I was there yesterday (12/10) for the 7:30PM matinee and they had 50 (yes, FIFTY) lottery tickets to give away!! And there were only about fifty people there so every single person who entered the lottery got to see the show. The two people who didn't have their names drawn for the actual lottery got to buy the $60 "lottery loser" tickets. The show was amazing, the staging was so creative and the set was beautiful. Definitely recommend!!
I went to the lottery last night and boy it has gotten harder! Show was sold out and only had 10 lottery that were standing room only. There were definitely over 50 people there. :/ I guess that's the holiday season for ya! Nope I didn't win.

I'm definitely waiting till the holiday season is over. It's going to be freezing in January so I'm hoping not many will want to stand in the cold. I love in-person lottery and am so happy this show is doing it. You're competing against 50-70 people instead of thousands. Circle In The Square shows have always done lottery after Wicked to get the Wicked lottery losers.
Did in person lottery for matinee today. They had 30 tickets available and there were probably 50-60 people there. Today, they actually had enough lotto loser tickets at $59.59 for everyone who didn't win, so everyone left happy!
I was there today for the in-person lottery too. I chose today because I thought I would have a better chance being it freezing cold, and right after holiday season. But there were more people than expected, but as above mentioned, everybody got a great deal so a good day.
One thing, I thought lottery tickets were 39.5 but for today it was 49.5. Lottery losers got 59.5 so just $10 difference. I thought the price was a mistake and checked their site and they changed the wording to $39.5 or 49.5 same day tickets for lottery. When is 39.5 and when is 49.5? Just curious. Great show by the way :)

I was there on 1/1 and this same thing happened. They called lottery tickets for $49 for about 40 folks, and then everyone else got $59 tickets. Telecharge seems to indicate the shows aren't selling out in advance, so it seems as though this sort of thing might be more common for the lottery from hereon out.

I did it Monday and Wednesday this week. Both times everyone who entered got either a lottery ticket or lotto loser for just $10 more. There were even some who came late and didn't get to enter to were able to get the lotto loser. On both days there were 30 lottery tickets and 20+ lotto loser. I would estimate maybe 50 people there on Monday but less on Wednesday.

I got to the theatre today at 11:35a, expecting the lotto sign-up to be in process for the noon drawing, but it wasn't set up and there was no one waiting. So I swung into the box office where there were a few folks in line. I heard the person at the window buy a standing room ticket for $49.50. The two women ahead of me asked some questions, then stepped aside and allowed me to go ahead of them. I asked if there would be a lotto drawing and where the seats would be located. She said the sign-ups would begin in a few mintues, but that the awarded tickets would all be standing room for $49.50, which were also available to be purchased immediately, if I wanted. So, I asked, "What would be the benefit of playing the lottery." To which she replied, "There's absolutely no benefit at all. If you're interested in standing for the show, I can sell you a ticket right now."
So, no brainier, I bought an SRO for the matinee and the guy behind me did the same. Right afterward, the two women who let me go ahead of them returned and asked to purchase SRO, and were told they had just sold the last two SRO tickets - if they wanted to stand for the show, they had to play and win the lottery, for which there was a healthy sign-up line beginning to form. Womp womp.
Moral of the story: it never hurts to chat cordially with the box office folks, then jump on a good opportunity when you have the chance.
Alternative moral of the story, don't bother with a show that has such an idiotic and disorganized rush process. One day it's $39.50, next day it's $49.50. One day it's for seats, next day it's for SRO. They hold them all for the lottery but might sell you some ahead of time if you ask nicely. It's really kind of ridiculous. And almost $50 for SRO is not cheap.
I've been periodically participating in this lottery since previews began and I've had such a mixed experience. I won the first time I entered at the second or third preview, and at that point, tickets were $39.50, and about 20 were available at the drawing, all of them were actual seats. My friend and I got incredible seats on the center of the side three rows back. I loved the production, so after opening I went back to try to win the lottery again. The first time I went back, they had 10 SRO for $49.50 and over 50 people there, I lost. Second time I went back, they had 5 regular seats for $49.50 and 10 for $69.50 -- I lost again. I went back last Wednesday just sort of on a whim, and they had 40 regular seats at $49.50 and there were probably about 50 people there. My name was drawn, but they ended up giving everyone tickets anyways, and there were plenty of empty seats in the theatre. My seats the second time were excellent as well. On the bend by the river, row E. So anyways, this has been the long wrap of my experience with the lottery. It's a huge grab bag and honestly kind of a mess.
I went this past Sunday (1/28). There were a good number of people there, but they had 20 lottery tickets at $49.50 and 40 "lotto loser" tickets at $59.50. I won a lottery ticket, so I didn't stick around much longer but I also heard that people that didn't even get lotto loser either got a discount or SRO. This is such a beautiful show, so highly recommend to anyone interested that they should try for it!
I went tonight (Mon. 1/29). They had 10 seats at $39.50, 10 seats at $49.50, and 22 SRO spots at $49.50. I got a SRO spot, my first time winning an in person lottery after many unsuccessful attempts at various shows haha. The show was beautiful. There were maybe 60 people at the lottery if I had to guess.

I did the lottery last night (Tuesday 2/6) and it was a really small group. They had 20 $49.50 tickets and 40 $59.50 tickets and I think everyone who showed up got to see the show. I won a $49.50 ticket and was seated in the very front row on the left side, basically on the stage. It was an amazing, immersive experience and a beautiful show! I definitely recommend doing the lottery especially on a weekday!

Did the same thing last Tuesday (2/13) and got the same results- thanks for the tip Leenmarie.
Four of us played the lottery on Sunday night, and two of us won--we all saw the show from wonderful seats. My thirteen-year-old son and I saw the show in previews, and we loved it even more the second time around. What a fantastic experience!
Mike, What time was the lottery actually held? If this is still playing in May, I would like to see the Sunday night performance. I would be coming from Iceman Cometh, so not sure what time that would get out. Not sure just to go up to box office and buy a standing room, if that was available. Would rather sit if I could. Thanks for any info you can provide.
