Rudin is an awful, awful man.

Smart producer. Awful man. As opposed to Harvey Weinstein, who is both dumb and awful.

"Confidential sources" = Honeymoon's PR department.

This article is a paid PR move from a waning show.

Was the comparison a pull quote or desperate crap they pulled out of their behinds? If it was the latter, I'm not sure I disagree.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

What was the comparison that so offended Rudin?

"This article is a paid PR move from a waning show."

Other than having to pay to have all of their PR materials re-printed sans the offending quote, what exactly have they "paid" for and what would the impetus for that spending be?

Y'all really don't know how the public relations industry works if you think this is a paid pitch.

It was a pull quote from Time Out New York.

MORMON was one of the most overrated shows that I have ever seen. Not MEMPHIS terrible, just extremely overrated.

'Cuz God forbid anyone besides you have an opinion.

Pretty sure Tag's comment meant that, as reciprocation against Rudin for his threatening them, the HONEYMOON team put out the story about Rudin to frame themselves as victims against their so-called 'Bully,'

Frankly, if I were Rudin I'd be pissed, too. Putting MORMON (a property he still intends to adapt into a film one day by all accounts) in a direct comparison with a stinker like HONEYMOON could be considered damaging to the brand of his show.

I think it's petty of Rudin, but his motivation seems clear and understandable. I just wouldn't have done what he did, but Rudin is the kind of producer for whom no detail is too small to consider and no action too minor to finesse with appropriate measures.

Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.

I think it was pretty clear that I was just expressing my opinion. I was not stating a fact or trying to change anyone's opinion.

1. Rudin is as awful as everyone suggests and as he looks.
2. Rudin is probably the best curator of properties in show business.
3. Riedel is on vacation; this is his beat.
4. Were Riedel NOT on vacation, the headline and the story would NEVER have run; Riedel is Rudin's lackey.

I find it weird he's admonishing them now. Furthermore it is a pull quote, why isn't he mad at the critic for making the connection in the first place?
