Just listened to Pamela’s “Roxie” number. Insane this was her first time performing it in front of an audience as she totally owned the monologue. She added her own nuances to it and I’m excited to see in a few weeks how she performs it once she’s settled in more. Vocally, she sounds a bit like Melanie Griffith, but Anderson definitely knows how to own that stage. It’s quite noticeable how she has the audience in the palm of her hand.
Curious to see the grosses from her first week. Plenty of seats available this week.

If you want apples to oranges, interpretations of roles, Pamela in this, Beanie trying her hardest as Fanny[those interviews don't help, at all], and WOW, the new lead in Cabaret singing? the title song. You will NEVER think of Liza ever again and that's what's not happening over at FG. I know, wrong thread but started thinking comparisons and got a little side-tracked.

Right? When I saw Jessie Buckley singing Cabaret I almost passed out. Nothing like I've ever seen or heard before. Goddamn.
My good friend and seasoned theatergoer just texted me during today's intermission and (I Quote) she is GOD AWFUL. Now this is from someone who wanted to see the show for tenth time (or some number like that) and had no idea of Pam Anderson's schedule. Appears to be a lot of forgiving fans. I only wish her the best.

With all due respect, Pamela Anderson’s run in CHICAGO is “event” casting. If your seasoned theater going friend is revisiting CHICAGO (which says a lot right there), his assessment is hilarious. Many of us returning to see CHICAGO haven’t done so in decades (myself included). A true theater goer knows how to adjust performances per the situation. Why on Earth did he choose to revisit a show I’m sure he’s seen countless times before (as a seasoned theater goer)? And unaware Pamela Anderson was performing?

And does your "good friend's" husband work in the area??
From what I’ve seen, Pam looks absolutely amazing in this role. For all roles out there that she could step into, I am so glad it’s Roxie.
All her life she has been overly-sexualized and pursued by the media. Just like Roxie. Regardless on if people think she performs it well or not, she will bring that to the role and is a shoe in.

Your friend must really love this show to go back so many times. It's weird they would not look up who was currently in it, but that's okay. Pamela Anderson is popular and looks beautiful, so I think it's just fun casting and a boost for the production.
Well, kiddies. Tickets sales have gotten a boost. Premium Seats for tonight are sold out and small amounts are available in the orchestra, front and rear mezzanine. Tons were available when I checked last week. Better snatch these puppies up before it becomes tough getting tickets. CHICAGO just got a new life extension.
Chicago's rush tickets were always easy to win. Now, probably not. I'd assume they sell SRO almost daily now.
