Seems kind of silly to me. To close a known money maker. I mean, they could stunt cast the smaller roles easily. And hope that some Hamilton style show comes along in the next few months.

I'm sorry but what date? The NY Post basically guess at December 31, and Phantom (and most Broadway shows) NEVER have performances on the 31 anyway. And then TimeOut said February. So what closing date are you hearing?

That’s true. Normally the only bway theater open on 12/31 is Vivian Beaumont since it’s not too close to times square.

Crazy. Wild.
I would love to know all the talk and chatter going on. Is there some other show itching to come in or were they essentially pushed out? Are they just going to downsize and move to a smaller theater?
Has that worked for any other show? I know Mamma Mia tried it before just closing all together. I guess it's sort of working for Kinky Boots?

Cancelling my New York trip for December. Luckily all I bought was hotel and airfare. Was planning on seeing Phantom at least twice during that trip. It will be a while before I can be in New York again.
