The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince

It’s a great photo. One of the most iconic street views of a theatre in the history of Broadway. It’ll be torn down tomorrow and never seen like that again.

Last night’s crowd who went with their hearts and memories completely bared were at the final performance more than today’s inner circle of invites and people who “happen to know someone who was slightly involved and got invited last minute."
No different than an opening night performance."
LOL sure but different from every other closing night of anything in history.
Defenses - exactly. Gotta love the rumors. For him to be fired, and then attend makes no sense whatsoever. Yet, there are those who want to believe non-truths.
There was a color insert in the Playbill saying that Ben is on vocal rest per doctor’s orders. He was not fired. The insert reads:
We regret to announce that our wonderful leading man, Ben Crawford, has been put on vocal rest, per doctor's orders. We are assured he'll be well soon, but, unfortunately, not in time for tonight's closing performance.
In his absence, we are delighted that Laird Mackintosh has agreed to step in and perform the title role of The Phantom tonight.

And then it’s Laird’s headshot and bio."
Thank you for sharing! I was at Ben’s final shows, and it was obvious he wasn’t well because he was losing his voice. But because Phantom has been quiet about his health situation, some people have claimed that illness wasn’t the real reason he hasn’t been on in two weeks.
