Y’all.
I literally Just wanted to convey that something wasn’t adding up and share it with the class since - as y’all know - I love this show and will be crushed if it closed this soon.
NO. I don’t want it to close.
NO. I did not speak to any cast because they often are the last to know and I’m not gonna share speculative information that regards the livelihoods of people’s jobs based on a hunch - as many are friends of mine. Im not gonna send them into a weekend of shows with the cloud that they .may learn they’ll be unemployed soon.
NO. I didn’t intend to use the word “rumor” as a means of kicking up drama. Usually when someone posts a thread of this nature, people pounce if the title isn’t abundantly clear. Maybe I used the wrong word, but I was trying to avoid posting something patently untrue.
I’m sorry if I twisted everyone’s panties, but considering some people might mourn a show they won’t be able to see, I figure this might motivate some people to go if they can, should I be correct.

Diehard fans need to realize they would have to bring in a few thousand people to save a show. a single person rushing to see a show potentially closing won't save it.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

He's getting word out to his community that if they've been holding off on getting tickets that they may have limited time left to do so. I have a ticket for November. But I'll be in Toronto at the end of the month. I just priced out making some changes to my trip - leaving T.O. early & flying to NYC for 2 nights and then returning to Vancouver direct on United from Newark. It adds about an extra 1K CAN$ to my vacation before I've even bought show tckets. Unfortunately not in my budget. If it closes & I didn't get to see it c'est la vie.

quizking no need to defend yourself. you were perfectly clear, and others here are either conflating your paranoia/concern with EDSO's delusion, OR purposefully misinterpreting what you wrote, OR have serious reading comprehension problems. All should be ignored.
As for CATS closing, who knows, but its struggle is a friendly reminder that the theater nerd / LGBTQ community is NEVER going to be enough to sustain a Bway run. It has to breakthrough and the marketing hasnt done that....

Any reasonable person can see that Jellicle Ball is not pulling in sustainable grosses and will close sooner than later. Although I would call quizking pointing to an August date “speculation” rather than a “rumor”- a rumor is already-circulating hearsay news- the gist of it is true: the show is not in a good financial place and there is no way it will be lasting many more months. It’s probably wise to see it asap.

If you actually think that any post -- about any show -- on this forum would cause such a major effect to drum up enough sales to save a particular show...well, I have some lovely investment opportunities for ya. The 40-50 active users of this site -- and that's being generous -- aren't going to save any show, and we all know that.

Dear God. Some rumors have truth. It’s announcing an August 8th closing very soon. Hopefully people who haven’t seen it will give them a box office bump to stay a little longer.
Broadway shows don’t last because they’re good or not. It’s all about finding an audience who cares and is willing to pay top tier. That sadly didn’t happen here. It doesn’t devalue how brilliant this take was.
