Probably a new season of the show since they're heavily hinting at Into the Woods, which I believe was to be the theme of season 3, no?

That was cancelled - this is the stage production that premiered at the Kennedy Center earlier this year.
It remains to be seen if McKenzie ditches HEATHERS for this in the spring, assuming it extends further. Same goes for Brad Oscar over at WICKED.
Lead producers Jeffrey Finn and Lorne Michaels have good working relationships with ATG… St. James? (They’d prob have to close the balcony for this.)

Could have been picked up by someone else. What's the relevance of the picnic basket to the stage version? (haven't seen it so legitimately asking)
No Guarantees (Christine Schwartzman) is the lead producer last I heard.
I think this would probably bomb commercially, but I’d like to see it on stage.

Not on television on another network or streaming service. It's coming to Broadway. I know someone working on the production.

I could actually see this being a sleeper hit if it gets good word-of-mouth. Nothing else seems to be coming in with much buzz this year, so who knows.

It wasn't. It's weird you aren't listening to people. It was cancelled and the creators want to bring it to Broadway. Kennedy Center was a test to see if people were interested, which they seem to be.

Rumored to bae a limited run at the Nederlander. Not sure how the numbers will work but maybe it goes out on tour? At least this sounds like fun in a season of serious subject musicals.

The picnic basket figures prominently in season 1, which the stage version adapts.

It's weird you're being so hostile over someone asking a genuine question! But weird antisocial behavior isn't anything new on this forum...
Anyways, thanks to the normal members of society for clarifying.
Just ignore Sutton, who apparently thinks the members here have a very short memory.

Not hostile brah, just learn to read what Jordan said the first time because he informed you it was cancelled and you still, stupidly, asked again.

I'm so tired.
I feel like this would fare better on tour…thoughts?
I don't know. The show wasn't exactly a big hit- it was an extremely niche streaming show. I say this as a fan: it made Smash look like must-see TV.
Oh I despised this at the Kennedy Center. An absolute mess.
Compared to “Smash” though, it’s a masterpiece.
"Extremely niche"
Would the average Joe get that the title is a play on Brigadoon? Have they ever even heard of Brigadoon?

Oh, it's leagues better than Smash, imo (aside from maybe Smash's score)- I meant in terms of viewership.

That is Sutton's MO on the board. Unfortunately it seems they can say/do anything on here without any repercussions so they continue to do so.
I LOVE the TV series, though I did not see the musical.
I cannot imagine this having any success for a commercial run on Broadway outside of a limited season for Roundabout or LCT, where there is a subscriber base built in who could appreciate the innumerable references the show makes from other shows. Parody doesn’t work unless the audience has an understanding of the referenced materials
Otherwise, leave it alone - it feels like a SMASH Deja Vu waiting to happen.

This is such a dreadful idea. Watch the show on Apple. The cast will never be better than that and it was still underwhelming.
