They just posted a video of their workshop thing they did. It’s already annoying me in all of its stereotypical old schoolness. You can be sure with Susan stroman and shaiman and wittman, this is going to be something we’ve seen a million times over. Generic boring musical comedy coming our way spring 2025.

Oh pipe down, Skippy. Based on the clip[, the show looks pretty fun to me. Not everything can be as good as your beloved Great Gatsby (or Bad Cinderella for that matter)!

I loved her as Karen in Mean Girls, but I'm not sure if I buy her as one of the leads in this highly anticipated show"
I know this post is a few months old, but Karen isn't a lead character in the musical.
This is going to be Robynn Hurder’s breakout role. I know she is a Tony award nominee but this is going to be her star studded role to date. One day she will win that tony and I hope it is for A Chorus Line revival

Not unless they drastically rewrite her role. Not only did she have barely any material, but the storyline for the role was pitiful.
Obviously this is still Smash, but what is the new approach to “the creation of Bombshell”? Who are these characters? Are we getting all the songs if Let’s Be Bad was already in Some Like It Hot? Been waiting for this one for a long time, but what I’ve heard sounds like things that’ve all been done a thousand times.
I agree that the video didn’t instill confidence. Feels stale. From Brooks’ over-the-top flamboyance to Hurder’s maybe-stronger-dance-wise-but-not-vocally Ivy, I don’t know. As I said, I’ll go because I’ve been waiting for it, but this isn’t making me think others will feel the same way.

This is a video from their workshop presentation, to be clear. I think it's fine, nothing spectacular, but if they want video content without doing a special shoot, this is all they've got.
I thought it all looked fun lol. I mean I know they released it and people have a right to judge but...even having said that damn y'all are quick for less than a minute of footage. Fair enough though.
Also, I didn't see the reading, but does Robyn even sing all of Megan's songs? I was under the impression that the Bella Coppola character sang some of the big ones.
If a 50th anniversary revival of A Chorus Line does happen next year, Robyn needs to be Cassie. She's the best Cassie I've seen in the past 20 years.
But Robyn has stated she likes tackling new material. Who knows if she even wants to play Cassie again.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
Broadway Flash said: "I thought she sangfine but she’s no megyn hilty in the voice department. I think the musical numbers are the only thing this show has going for it."
Hon, I think you're conflating Megan Hilty and Megyn Kelly...*shudders*
TaffyDavenport said: "I will say that I wasn't that impressed by Robyn's vocals, either. Bella Coppola had the best voice, with the2most memorable numbers, in my opinion."
I so hope Coppola and Nielsen continue with the show.
Honestly, I think Ariana Maddix would be the perfect replacement for Jonalyn. She'd bring in extra fans too. It'd be a perfect role for her to originate.
It's not the television show on stage and this was just a reading. No casting has been announced for next year and I doubt they would cast someone for the lead pretty much unknown outside of midtown.
