Glad to see that these prices are relatively normal for a big star driven show. I suppose that's because of the theatre size. I still think they're overestimating demand for this show. It's going to be tough for a production like this sell 1700 seats for that long. But, I understand the ATG/Jujamcyn politics that are putting it there. Even being stuck with this theatre, they should've followed the Merrily playbook and announced as a limited run through the end of the year before eventually extending to July.

I also didn't see the option to purchase the cast album as I was buying tickets, but can confirm that a second email came a while later that allowed me to pre-order. Couldn't pass up the red vinyl...

The Audience Rewards FAQ says "To earn ShowPoints for your ticket purchases, visit ourEvent Listing page. There you will see all of the shows participating with the Audience Rewards program with links to the authorized ticketing system."

Sunset is not on that listing page, so I assume no AR points for buying tickets. Best bet is to contact AR directly with your question."

I just found this on the AR site:

"Did you purchase a ticket online for a show at a Jujamcyn Theatre (Al Hirschfeld, August Wilson, Eugene O'Neill, St. James, Walter Kerr)? You won't be asked for your Audience Rewards number during checkout, but we are working behind the scenes to add the order to your account. If you still don't see the order in your account 14 days prior to the performance, please fill out the form below!"

Just a follow up that I did get an email later in the day to pre-order the album, which I dutifully did. But am I missing something or did I simply pre-order something that I could've just purchased in October with no benefit to buying early? I kind of assumed that there would be an early release date for those who purchased or some sort of digital download.

I suppose it was good for marketing though, since I would not have ever shelled out $777 for two tickets for something 7 months away... :) Last time I purchased in advance like this was the original 1994 production and I thought $200 was a lot at the time

No word on who, but the alternate will perform on Tuesdays starting after opening night. When you go to purchase tickets for those dates a message is on the page. I'm dying to know who the alternate will be."

got it - good to know as we didn't plan on attending a Tuesday night anyway. thanks. I even asked my agent friend and he had no idea..yet!

It's interesting how some got the email after purchasing tickets to pre-order the cd, and others didn't. I never got it. :(

Just read a Kate Shindle interview of her stepping down as the Equity president. Think she will make a great Norma in this production.

She’s been pretty booked back to back since Sunset closed, but I can’t find anything announced that far out, so it’s still a possibility. It would be her fourth time on Broadway, IIRC.
