Many of the more popular shows but the one I was really expecting to like but just couldn't find its appeal is probably Side Show. It's just the kind of show I usually love and just obscure enough for my likings, but I've listened to it a few times through and I don't think it's anything other than annoying.
"If you try to shag my husband while I am still alive, I will shove the art of motorcycle maintenance up your rancid little Cu**. That's a good dear"
Tom Stoppard's Rock N Roll
"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.

Aida. Got the cast recording and hated the score except for about 3 songs. Thought "well maybe I'll like it better if I see it live". Saw the show and still didn't like it.
"You drank a charm to kill John Proctor's wife! You drank a charm to kill Goody Proctor!" - Betty Parris to Abigail Williams in Arthur Miller's The Crucible
Guys and Dolls How to Succeed... Godspell Cats Phantom of the Opera The Light in the Piazza (some beautiful music, but otherwise comes off like frothy drama to me) Company (as much as I hate to admit it as a Sondheim fan. A lot of songs I like but I can't get it as a whole) Grease
"This ocean runs more dark and deep than you may think you know...I'll be the fear of the fire at sea."

I totally see what people are saying about Rent but I just love the songs so much. I was just watching the movie with a non-Broadway loving friend and it made me realize how hilarious/ridiculous some of it is. SO 90s angst. But, I still love it.
I just could not get into Drowsy Chaperone. I can't believe it is so popular.
