Definitely intrigued. Possible surprise hit of the season?
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

It's a completely original idea now and has nothing to do with "Hee Haw."

From the NYT:
"'Shucked' has a complicated development history. The three writers first collaborated on a musical called 'Moonshine,' which was based on 'Hee Haw,' a long-running country-and-comedy variety show that first aired on television in 1969. In 2015, a production of “Moonshine: That Hee Haw Musical” was staged at the Dallas Theater Center in Texas.
But in the years since, the three writers have turned their attention to 'Shucked,' which has some stylistic and narrative similarities to 'Moonshine,' but which is no longer affiliated with the 'Hee Haw' brand. Horn told BroadwayWorld last month that 'Moonshine' 'had its life, then ended, then the three of us decided to start completely over to create an original story. The entire story, tone, musical palette, creative team, everything evolved as we developed this new idea.'"
I typically enjoy reading the conversations on this board but don’t post much. But I can tell you I saw this show on opening night at Pioneer. I enjoyed it enough to go back this past weekend and took a number of family members with me the second time around. I can’t remember ever laughing so hard, or as often, during a musical. The performances were fantastic across the board. And I admit I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the music. It wasn’t just witty dialogue with passable songs. I’m very curious to see how this does in New York. I wish everyone involved the very best.

Thank you for the review, my friend thought very similar things. She especially loved the cast and their chemistry together.
And thanks for the New York Times information about this show for people who didn't even know what it was about, Jordan.
I saw it opening night at Pioneer Theatre Co., and it was really enjoyable. Looks like Taylor Trensch might not be transferring, unfortunately. Here are my review and interview with Robert Horn for a lot more details:

This got strong reviews and word-of-mouth in Utah. Hoping this shakes things up for the Tony's.

Agreed! I saw this last week in SLC. It was hilarious. Great score. Far better than I would have ever imagined! I hope there is a place for an original comedy on Broadway this season!
Broadway has seen various musicals with country (or country-pop) scores through the years, to mixed results.
If the right cards are played and if the show receives good word of mouth, Shucked could be the next Big River or The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. But this could also easily be the next Bonnie and Clyde, Bright Star, or Hands on a Hardbody.
Also, any Broadway show is a risk, but as we know, wholly original products are even more risky in this industry.
Girlfriend is auditioning for this, Ive been hearing her sing her cut of one of the songs. Its honestly pretty funny..but im sure ill get tired of it with the amount she's singing it LOL
