Posted: 6/7/09 at 10:55pmI actually happen to think Billy Elliot is the better overall production. I think it deserves the Tony, but I hope Next to Normal is the face of the coming wave of new musicals.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

Okay, I did really enjoy BE and it is a fantastic show, but damn, it did not deserve 10 Tonys. Best book should have definitely gone elsewhere.
Pretty disappointed this year...wait, Neil is singing. Can he save this for me?

Elton's speech was classy at least. I loved the N2N shout out.
And I love Neil Patrick Harris!
Oh, and I almost forgot to mention...I'm the good cop, he's the bad cop.
