When I first saw him in Clara's Heart, I never thought I would ever say Neil Patrick Harris has "it." When I saw him in "Assassins" I knew he did. And he does.
HAIR and the NPH finale were the two things worth tuning in for.

K a few quick comments:
1)No surprises, but still some amazing wins!! YAYYY Hair and Alice, and Next to Normal for Best Score, and many of the other acceptances were very touching as well!
2)The performances from Hair, Next to Normal, and Billy Elliot were all EPIC. Like really, jeeeez amazing <3
3)Neil Patrick Harris, WHY are you the most awesome ever??? Legendary hosting job? I THINK SO
Especially the ending OMG. I was dying
So yeah, although there were some upsets I was really pulling for (Will, Gavin, and Next to Normal mostly), I wasn't exactly expecting them, and it was still a great night, it really was. And those Billy boys WERE beyond adorable hehe

A Billy Sweep? WHAT A SURPRISE!
I overall enjoyed the show. I liked last years tonys better, personally, of course I've only seen two Tony Awards in my life, so maybe I don't have much of a opinion... hearing the words 'Billy Elliot' over and over grated me like no other though. And I think Christopher Sieber deserved the Featured Actor Tony.
I agree, there wasn't enough NPH. I love him to death and I wish I saw him more. The ending number made his presence there awesome, though. I LOVE YOU, NEIL!
Oh, and I don't know about you guys but I thought the opening number was beyond epic.

NPH made up for Billy taking Best Musical.
Now that the Tony's are over it's time to award the BWWTony for Best Post in The Tony Awards Megathread.
And it goes to...
FindingNamo for his comment on the Billy Elliot "Angry Dance" performance:
"I had no idea Billy Elliot was about one boy's triumph over epilepsy."
Congratulations Namo! You win the thread

Hair's performance was DA BOMB DIGGITY!
Basically it COMPLETELY owned the entire night
Seriosuly, SERIOUSLY I freaking love that show and that tribe. Gavin and Will are entiiiiirely too much love <33 They make me so happy I don't even think there are enough words to describe it. And they were having just a LIL too much fun up there, dontchya think?
The Next to Normal performance really was amazing too though. SO good

I'm thrilled about Billy winning ten Tony Awards. I'm also thrilled Next to Normal can say they have won three!
The show was a disaster. The technical flaws ruined the show for me. And the touring performances were absolutely pointless. Seriously, you kicked off Choreography and Book of a Musical for those? NPH was divine though. Why couldn't we see more of him?
Seeing the three Billy Boys win was wonderful! You just don't see that every day!
To the people who think the Tonys got it wrong, this isn't the worst blunder they've ever pulled. Spamalot over ANY of the other nominees? I'm personally very happy this year. I would have loved to see Billy take Score and Featured Actress, but I'm happy for the winners.

I'm sorry...but I didn't enjoy the show this year like I have in the past. The two highlights were the opening and closing numbers. To me, all the musical performances were short/"choppy".
And I do love Legally Blonde, Jersey Boys, and Mamma Mia...but WHAT WAS THE POINT?!?! That was pointless! I'm sorry.
The tribute to Jerry Herman was kinda silly...using clips from his PBS special? I am so glad he got the award. He is so awesome!
I guess my feeling is that they tried to squish too much into a small amount of time. I will agree, however, this is the best season for Broadway in years!

Posted: 6/7/09 at 11:15pmI'm assuming WALL-E malfunctioned before the show? I hear that happens very often to the new WALL-E animatronic meet-and-gret characters in the Disney parks.
