I hope I’ll be able to watch this part later on. The bar party I’m at isn’t showing it (since I don’t think they were aware of the early start), so I’m relying on Twitter. Ugh

Wondering if someone can help me. Trying to watch the preshow on Pluto tv here in Montreal, Canada and I downloaded the Pluto TV app, and there is no sign of a celebrity channel where I can watch the 6:30 PM preshow. Anybody else having the same trouble from Canada. Would appreciate some advice ? Thx!
This is clipping along probably because of the strike.
I feel like Leopoldstadt winning best costume design is an indication that it’s going to sweep? It’s basically just suits?
I’m watching just fine from the UK. I just clicked the link in the earlier message in this thread and am watching on a browser.

I was confused as to how to find it and went to the search option. It would not let me do a physical search but you should see the box for "Celebrity" in the options that pop up. Move to that box and click on it.

Cutting off the first speech is a bad sign.
No one knows where these cameras are lol.

So after Beowulf takes a swipe at video walls, the Tony goes to Life of Pi and its use of video

Not sure how I feel about it. I love it at Radio City however...if it's going to limit the amount of empty seats we saw last year, a smaller theatre is probably best."
I really don't care about the empty seats, there were a lot at the beginning of this broadcast. I just love the feel of it. It feels more theater specific (I guess for lack of a better term!). Reminds me of the days before Radio City when I would run to my room and watch them as a kid.

Pluto certainly doesn’t make it easy to find Act 1. When I searched Tony Awards the first result some other channel with Tony-adjacent video came up. I watched that for a while before I figured out it wasn’t the right thing.
This is Casey Nicholaw's first Tony, no? If so, congrats to him!

lucky number seven!
It's his first choreography Tony. He won Best Direction for The Book of Mormon.

I think it is his second. His first was for directing if I am correct.
Correct! That's what I was referring to, his first for choreography. Apologies!
One day, I wish they would put Choreography back on the main telecast.

I agree! Adorable!
I believe this is Natasha Katz's 8th Tony. Wow!

I wondered if Sweeney Todd might be shut out. The lighting design was excellent.

Are they not allowed to have a teleprompter to tell people which camera to look at?

I have such respect for Jeanine Tesori and the varied styles of her efforts. Seeing some of the collaborative conversations between Tesori and Kushner in WRESTLING WITH ANGELS made me think she would be an amazing person as a mentor. She also seems like someone you'd have a great time hanging out with and talking about theater.

I was searching for it in the app on my TV so I could watch it on the big screen.
