But we all certainly have money to spend on entertainment or luxury or whatever you want to call it, we just make choices on how to spend it. For me, I choose shows.
Same here. I don't have much interest in movies, very little interest in video games, I don't like shopping for clothes so I only do it when I really have to... and I don't look at porn, either.

May I venture to guess there was a someone those three had in common, though?
Heh, you know it.
As to the money issue, in the past when I have seen lots of shows I had been living at home on Long Island so I didn't have any rent or large expenses. Plus I would always use discounts like Broadwaybox.com. $60 instead of $100 is a big difference. Now that I'm living in Manhattan I use the student discount whenever I can, and since I don't drink or spend money on much else, I have enough spending money to see shows.
I've seen 'Blood Brothers' so many times I've lost count. At least twice in the West End, at least three times in my original home theatre, at least once in Bristol, at least once in my adopted home theatre, so... at least seven times but probably way more. It's a family favourite. :3
As to money issues; what money issues? I'm another one who doesn't feel the need to splurge money on clothes or drinking, and I don't eat very expensively either. I have enough disposable income to send me to the theatre many times a year, and it's my main love, so why not? ^_^
Ditto wickedrentq and lizzie. Considering a night out clubbing in Manhattan will cost you around $100 (drinks and cab ride included), the fact that I don't drink considerably increases my budget for Broadway shows.
Also, you save a ton (not to mention the health benefits) if you cook your own food instead of eating out.
Hairspray - 42 times Wicked - 22 times Avenue Q and Wedding Singer - 4 or 5 times each
There have been a few times that I saw Wicked and Hairspray twice in one day (matinee and evening shows) because there was an u/s on that I loved or when it was someone's last shows.
Taboo - 5 Dracula - 5 Sweeney Todd - 2 Spring Awakening 2 (third time in April) Little Women - 2 Chitty - 3 Chicago - 3 Good Vibrations - 2 In My Life-2 Probably others that I'm forgetting...
I rarely ever see the same production of a show more than once--however I have seen about 30 different productions of Sweeney Todd and maybe 25 of A Little Night Music. No others come close.
Yes, we do need a third vampire musical.--Little Sally, Gypsy of the Year 2005.
Rent - 31 Starlight Express - 5 Altar Boyz - 4 Cats - 4 Les Mis - 3 We Will Rock You - 3 Wicked - 3
As far as money goes: I've been going to the theatre since I was about 4, and I'm now 26. So I have seen a lot of shows, but that's over the course of 22 years. My parents paid for the shows I saw as a child, and later on I got a lot of my tickets from half-price ticket booths. Plus, most of the times I saw Rent I queued for the cheap seats.
And, like some other people have mentioned, I'm not really into drinking, I don't like big (i.e. expensive) nights out, etc. I spend my money on shows instead. Updated On: 2/12/07 at 07:36 PM
So I have seen Rent like 5 times (3 times through the lottery before I lived here and 2 times after I moved here) each of those times I remember a couple of the same peoples faces from each prior visit. If they didn't get in on the lottery they would then go to the box office and buy a ticket. It was like a day could not pass without them seeing the show. It's like a second job they aren't being paid for but instead paying for themselves.
I enjoy seeing a show multiple times if I really love it but not everyday. There is something pathological about it. Updated On: 4/24/07 at 01:51 PM
The Vertical Hour ~ 10 times (in the 4 months it was open) The Drowsy Chaperone ~ 6 times (so far) RENT ~ 5 times (1 on tour and 4 in NYC) No Child... ~ 4 times (will be at least once more before it closes) The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee ~ 3 times Wicked ~ 3 times The Year of Magical Thinking ~ 1 at the moment (I'm including it because it will be at least 3 by the time it closes.)
Many others once. :)
(And before anyone asks... I'm a teacher, so I'm far from wealthy. I use discount codes, student rush, and lottery when available. My friend and I altered the saying on some shirts to say "When I have money I buy theatre tickets. If there's any left over I buy food." It's all about what I like and how I want to spend my money. I only have myself and a bird to look after. I also pick up extra time doing scoring of exams and datafolios (what we use for kids who can't take standardized tests), which, as another friend put it, equals one rush or lottery show per hour worked.)

LIVE THAT LESSON!!!!!!
Okay I have seen tons of shows numerous times but nothing will beat watching "The Wedding Singer" 5 times in 8 months when I live all the way out in Pennsylvania. Very proud of that number. That was the most fun I have ever had at a show....
I made a list of all your faults, it was quite detailed and lengthy too and when I read it through I missed you. Your like a classic Eagles song, you just cant help but sing along even though it sometimes gets annoying too. I just know I want to be wherever I can wake and see you there next to me. **High Fidelity**
Love is what I do **The Wedding Singer**
Xanadu - Best NEW Musical of the Season!
Seen Les Mis 26 times in the past two years. For two reasons: one, the tour played in a bunch of east coast cities last year, and I drove back and forth from Massachusetts to Washington DC several times a semester when I had breaks from school. If I was passing through a city where the tour was playing, I'd go see it on my way home. And two, I've done a lot of Saturday double-headers at the Broadway revival in the past few months, where I went to see the matinee, found out an understudy I've never seen before was going on in the evening, and bought an impulse ticket.
Obviously broadwaybox.com and the restricted-view seats are my friends, but I'm another person who doesn't spend money on much besides tickets.
