So that character has got her half an EGOT, huh?
Posted: 6/7/15 at 8:15pm
With everything I've heard about "A Musical," I wasn't terribly impressed.

Alan has set the tone with his outfit...this should be a fun night!'

I love Alan Cumming and Chenowith but I'm underwhelmed so far.
Helen Mirren looks stunning.

What a GREAT, great opening number!
Posted: 6/7/15 at 8:17pm
Y'know, at this point, given that she's won two of the big awards for doing so, I'm starting to think Helen Mirren is the Queen better than the Queen is. :-p
Also..."A Musical" was cute. Will have to go pre-order the OBCR now.

This is clearly going to be the BEST Tony broadcast in history.

I'm not a huge fan of SOMETHING ROTTEN, but "A Musical"onstage goes on for 8 minutes and is a bonafide showstopper to beat all showstoppers.

Fun Home wins Best Score!

"This is clearly going to be the BEST Tony broadcast in history."
Seriously? I certainly didn't see anything that would suggest this to be the case.

No Standing Ovation for Helen!? SR was great. But Brad didn't blew me away.
Posted: 6/7/15 at 8:19pm
I was unimpressed with A Musical in the theatre, and it still bored me on the Tonys. The performers sold it very well though.
Yay Fun Home for Best Score!!
Posted: 6/7/15 at 8:19pm
So happy that Fun Home won! It sucks that they won't put the full acceptance speech on the broadcast.
Posted: 6/7/15 at 8:20pm
Really, that was the show-stopping standing ovation number? Was not impressed.
Posted: 6/7/15 at 8:20pm
That was a great opening number. Never felt warmth for SR, liked that.

"Really, that was the show-stopping standing ovation number? Was not impressed."
It's a lot longer in the show. :)
Posted: 6/7/15 at 8:21pm
I actually was impressed with Something Rotten. So, it definitely sold me to go see it.
Posted: 6/7/15 at 8:23pm
Loved the opening musical. Very entertaining. Why is Kristen wearing the Roxie/Nowadays costume? Alan should ditch the Leisl getup.

How did you guys learn that Fun Home won Best Score?? I didn't see anything about it on my television.
Also, Taye Diggs just pronounced Hammerstein as Hammer-steen and I thought that was very strange.

Broadway World's list in the live update above has Something Rotten listed as winner for best score. An error??
