""Fun home..."first all female writing team"? What about Secret Garden's Lucy Simon (score) and Marsha Norman (book and lyrics)?" First female team TO WIN."
Confusing to give FUN HOME more scenery and props than it had onstage. So surprised that the dad was in that scene at all. And, no it wasn't the best come-on to get folks buying tickets, but i have no idea which song would have done that.

I can't imagine how this could be construed as confusing. It provided context to the number.
Sydney Lucas had the best performance of the night so far. Perfect- I'm so glad they picked that song!
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
Talk about not being a great commercial for their show, I'm super-disappointed with AAIP's number. Seems so old-fashioned, but onstage those numbers were so magnificent!
My vote for best musical...AAIP!! If any number would not sell tickets, it's Fun Home..I'm sure the show is great but not the kind of number that will appeal to everyone.
The only review of a show that matters is your own.

It was staged almost exactly like the show. The dad is in a diner drinking coffee in the show and adult Alison is watching from her drawing table, which happens throughout the show.
