The "Coming Up Best Direction" thing was just a stock image to promote the Second Stage thing. The one under it had also said "Coming up Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Play" and obviously that one is near the end of the night on CBS.
What did the little kid say? I closed the window because I thought there was a Bandwidth problem, and now it won't even reopen. Oh, TONYs. "My only love sprung from my only hate."
See this is why I (we?) love LIVE theater...no internet, cameras, video to screw things up. The curtain goes up and there's the show..none of this..where is the damn thing!!!

Except for set failures. Actors missing lines. Actors having accidents. Actor missing ques. Mics blowing out. Speakers/Lights blowing out.
Yeah like when that hack Adam Pascal dropped his lines in CHICAGO, what a hack.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
Yeah!!! ^^^ But that's live theater. There are screw ups of course... but at least you can find them..it's not like, where the heck are we supposed to be looking???

How is it any different? They lost feed. You don't always know why a Broadway show stopped.

This is embarrassing. "I think the best play is...oh I can never remember its name. Vanya and Vanya and Christopher Durang and Sigorney Weaver?"
Can they at least find people who know who the nominees are?
They were joking about all of the names in the title "Vanya...". That was Michael Riedel and Richard Ridge in that group. Obviously they'd know who the nominees are.
"I'm seeing the LuPone in Key West later this week. I'm hoping for great vocals and some sort of insane breakdown..." - BenjaminNicholas2
