I quite honestly lost interest in seeing the film when Erivo was cast. This is not a professional clip but it still doesn't make me want to see it. But I have to say, I am really curious to see Grande's take on Galinda and what they have added from the book.

She took the punch and essence out of 2 very important moments. The "me" and "look" should not be crumpled together and both held in a long and weak way while being connected. It makes it sound like she's annoyed rather than powerful.

She does the "aaaaoooooh" at the end in the same way. Sounds stretched and she sounds annoyed and it takes away all the power from the character. Sounds like she's in the supermarket ad-libbing her way through the aisle and suddenly sees there's a long line at the checkout while rolling her eyes.

I noticed this before in her portrayals of characters, she comes across as uninterested. Blasé even.

She is the opposite of an Elphaba in my opinion and I have no interest in seeing the film because of her casting. I will look up the clips of the Glinda songs.

First trailer is set to release tomorrow at 6 p.m. EST.

Actually, don't quote me on that. It was from an account on Twitter that looked like the actual Pop Base, but it's a fan account, so whether or not it's true remains to be seen. Although it does make sense that Universal would release a teaser with the new Trolls movie, coming out on Thursday, as well as program it in theaters with the new Hunger Games, so we'll see what happens.

That's the Cinemacon "making of" Teaser not the teaser expected to be released publicly.

Since when is criticism about acting and singing, with literal examples where she does not reach a note and what she does in acting racist? Don't project your divisive desires on me please.

Many people agreed that she acted and sounded horribly. Substantiated with examples. "Not interested in what she is singing", "No energy", "bad, uninterested acting", all quotes in that thread from many different people. And my post was about the whole movie, getting into many aspects.

What's your opinion on her performance there and in this trailer? Feel free to be honest. We are all equals. Wanting to exclude certain races from critique is a worrying tendency.

I hope that the trailer will debut online but considering how poorly (when compared to pre-pandemic levels) theatrical releases are hurting I could see Universal debuting the trailer in theatres for at least a week or two ahead of an online release simply to help drive up initial boxoffice sales because there would be people that would simply go to one of these features just to get their first glimpse of the WICKED trailer.

I think you’ve misread what I’ve written. I’m just asking if you remember your review of her performance in Pinocchio in which you used racial stereotypes, thinly veiled language and comparisons that you wouldn’t use for a Caucasian actress? If you don’t remember just say so.

Looks like it’s possible that someone was messing with us all… no one can confirm a trailer today… I think we would hear from Jon Chu if a trailer was going to post… but who knows it still could… but feeling very doubtful

I feel like we'll get the first official teaser trailer on Thanksgiving (Nov 23) during the Cowboys-Commanders football game; it will be the most-watched event that day on TV and one year before the film's release.

And the FULL trailer during the Super Bowl in February, 9 months ahead of the release.

They're the two biggest TV moments we have coming up in terms of viewership.

Countless film trailers have been released before a film has completed post-production, which is why many contain scenes that don’t end up in the finished film. Even the original trailer for 1939’s THE WIZARD OF OZ has different takes from what ended up being used in the finished film.

This first trailer for WICKED will be a teaser trailer (these are the first to be) so it’ll be very vague. We might not even see anyone singing in this teaser trailer. Actual clips from the film itself will be in the full trailer released months later.

I went back to read your Pinocchio post this user mentioned (https://forum.broadwayworld.com/readmessage.php?thread=1154240):

"Cynthia Erivo looked like a sassy hairdresser that came straight out of hell."

"Saying her lines with her eyes rolling, in a manner as if she was gossiping at the local hairdressers."

These are racially charged critiques and easily searchable. It's also pathetic to continue and attack Cynthia Erivo as she moves on with her career, and to call other users a liar for calling you out. It's clear to me what your intentions are and that a miserable person is hiding behind your screen.

It was a very long post, going into detail about all aspects of the movie.

Why didn't you quote the same thing I said about Patti Lupone? Because that doesn't fit your divisive agenda? So yes, that accusation is an actual lie.

As you can see, many posters agreed and said the same thing about her singing and acting in that movie. And in case you didn't know, a review with an opinion is not an attack.

Now, I have asked Plannietink08 three times now what she/he thinks of the failed notes and questionable acting. I only hear (jiminy) crickets. What did you think of it? Making up lies and avoiding the actual topic is very telling. Trying to frame reviewers with your personal desire for segregation too. Work on that, react on the topic, and be kind to other users please. You don't need to call a user miserable because between all their reviews there happens to be a bad one about a non white actress as well. But thank you for exposing yourself.

Just because you went into detail about all aspects of the movie does not mean that some of those aspects you mentioned were not inappropriate or racially charged. You have said a lot of gross and inappropriate things on these boards. Many of them have been deleted by moderators due to their distastefulness. It may be prudent of you to let this go, or at least rethink how you choose to express your opinions, as they do not come off the way you seem to think they do.

Your opinion of how Cynthia sings the song may have been valid, but due to your past comments, it remains difficult to take your evaluation seriously. It is even more difficult when you have stated similar vitriol about Hailey Bailey in The Little Mermaid (also searchable), and your now deleted diatribes against Rachel Zegler. You will have to excuse those of us who detect a pattern in your posts regarding women of color- and there is a pattern.

How you choose to move forward here is up to you, but when so many threads on these boards have been filled with you having to defend your posts as not having racist overtones, maybe it is time to ask yourself why you are having to constantly be on the defense. It certainly isn't a good look; I give great kudos to those who have been trying to let you know.

Thank you. It is indeed valid, because it's an opinion, and shared by many, as you can see in the reactions. I also explained what exactly I did not like about it. It would be wonderful if people like yourself get into the matter a bit more too, instead of just throwing around racially charged accusations all the time, and doing only that. Why are you not reacting on the topic and why are you not reacting on my reviews of all other performances? Such as Patti Lupone? Sarah Brightman? Anyone for that matter. That really is too selective and very telling. It is a pattern. It shows that you are not able to see that I treat people equally. You are the one making segregations. Only you.

The reason I defend this is a matter of principle. When I write about Lupone I hear crickets. When I write about another performer you start race picking. I will not be dragged into this separation desire. It may be prudent of you to let this go, or at least rethink how you choose to express your opinions, as they do not come off the way you seem to think they do. It certainly isn't a good look; Many kudos to those who have been trying to let you know.

By the way. FYI, I am a person of color. And I adore Halle Bailey.
