Nobody thinks your opinions are racially motivated because you disliked Cynthia’s performance in any of her projects, disliking her work is completely fair game. How you chose to express that dislike via a diatribe is what gives people pause.

Now, I have asked Plannietink08 three times now what she/he thinks of the failed notes and questionable acting. I only hear (jiminy) crickets. What did you think of it? Making up lies and avoiding the actual topic is very telling.
Not sure why you’re so keen to hear my thoughts, I don’t like her line delivery throughout most of the CinemaCon footage. I do agree that she lacks emotion when saying “some of us are different” and “we can’t all come and go by bubble” but that’s perhaps because we’re so used to hearing the lines spoken for the stage instead of for the screen. I’ll reserve judgement until I witness the product.
But the vocals are stellar. I’ve listened to both her rehearsal and CC footage trailer versions of Defying Gravity and much prefer the CC version. Her voice placement is healthier and I love how the riff is reminiscent of Saycon’s riff.
You don't need to call a user miserable because between all their reviews there happens to be a bad one about a non white actress as well.

Because that's what this thread is for. Thanks for your opinion. I agree that the spoken lines lack emotion too. That seems to be a thing with her, on stage too. I disagree about the sung lines, like I explained before. Those to moments should sound anything but annoyed/uninterested. I feel that certain riffs need a certain urge/feel behind it. Otherwise it is better to keep it simple and match the (low) energy.
You have a link to the rehearsal footage? I haven't seen that, only the CC footage.
Pardon me if this has been discussed already but has there been word on what the plan is for a soundtrack recording? Will they release an individual album for each film separately and then eventually release a "Deluxe Album" that includes both films once they've both been released?

One Short Day has already been filmed. Stephen Schwartz was also there for the filming because that is where Kristin and Idina make their cameo appearances.
There are still a few days left to film, plus some reshoots, Last I heard they were looking for somewhere to build the Oz sets sgain, but every studio is fully booked right now.
Why would we get a delay with only 10 days left and I would doubt they need the whole oz built again … they have over a year to get it fixed and edit… some movie makers are editing up to release to press..
I'm hoping to walk away impressed by both Cynthia and Ariana in this...but we'll see. The casting could definitely have been worse.
I'm almost more curious how far they stray from the show's content with the additional time the 4 hours provides them. Would studios allow Elphaba to be more overtly evil in the story and actually do something "bad"? That's the one element I always felt was missing from the show.
I'm also curious how much more development Nessa is given. She has potential the show doesn't quite tap.

I hope they bring back Nessarose's Unionism storyline from the book
I have two questions and I wonder if anyone has the answers:
1. Do we know when filming will start back up again in the UK? The film was only 10 days away from completing principal photography so I am curious if anyone has heard when they will continue.
2. Jon M Chu confirmed that during the strike/when production on Wicked was temporarily paused, he continued working on editing the film so that it will still be released on-time without any further delays. So I am wondering when we will get our first trailer for the film. I hope that the trailer will play in front of Wonka OR The Color Purple and then in 2024 we will get more trailers and the official ad campaign for Wicked: Part One
I don't think it's necessarily a rumor so much as speculation, unless you've heard something from an actual source. The Wicked movie did just create and launch an official tiktok account, very exciting stuff. Most projects don't start up social media pages until they're getting ready to kickstart their promotional campaign. So people are theorizing that they might be drumming up hype for the big upcoming event of the season (aka Superbowl). But there's no guarantee, they could just be setting it up for the far future. But the Superbowl wouldn't be a terrible idea - it's super expensive but there will be tons of families watching it and I'm sure they'll want to target as many people as possible.
I know everyone is concerned about Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel having cameos, but I’m more interested in seeing Joel Grey. The man is 91 and I’d love to see him have one last hurrah in the movie. I don’t know if he’s capable of traveling to London for the shoot, but I hope it happens.
He hints at something soon-ish in the comments... Hmmm... how soon is ish? Could it be support for the Super Bowl theory? Or maybe sometime March (Oscars?) or April.
I’m curious if they’re planning anything special in correlation to the National tour playing The Pantages just as the film is supposed to come out.
