I just want to say thank you for the news of the site. Further, thank you for all the posts you have made in the past. It was very generous of you. Have a good day! Oh two questions actually, have you seen Avenue q? What do you think? And at my school, each senior class has to put on a play. There are only 25 of us. Anywho, this year our teacher picked bye bye birdie. I have terriable stage freight. DO you have any suggestions to get over this fear? any reccomendations will be greatly appreciated.

Anthony, it sounds like the official site is going to be great...so I'm excited! I am also really glad to hear about all the documentation that is going on during the production. Good to know that we will all be able to see how the amazing movie that I know this will be was created :)

Anthony (and everyone else),
I think my brother understands a good bit of what he is singing, it is really obvious that he understands and loves certain phrases ("You're not alone", for example) because he almost shouts them and pronounces them with a clarity that is very rare for him. I think music is very helpful to his comprehension and development of language because it seemed to give him a medium and words to express feelings and communicate. The 2 songs he sang are somewhat different and he sang them with a different tone and emotion (again, very new and wonderful for him), leading me to think he comprehends a good bit of what he's singing. Of course, since he has never seen the show and it is a bit complex for any 9 year old, I don't think he understands the characters, subtext, the symbolism of certain lines or things along those themes. But the expressiveness of his singing was so new and overwhelming and makes me think he gets the overall message of the songs. Now, I am a psychology major so I might be analyzing this too much, but after thinking about this all day, I think that my brother might more naturally understand the tone and rhythm of the music itself and not the words. For years, there have been certain sounds that are very soothing to him for no apparent reason (he'll play the same 2 notes on a piano for a good 5 minutes), but for some reason these particular songs have provided him words to associate these moods and feelings with and have given him the means to express himself, something no special ed class or speech therapy has been able to do.
I'm sorry if that's lengthy, but I have been pondering Anthony's question regarding his comprehension and implications of this breakthrough all day! Thank you to everyone who has responded so kindly to this story. Anthony, I wish you continued luck with filming and am greatly anticipating the official website.

It will be sad to see the stop of movie information, but it is for a good cause, and I can't wait.
Make sure to tell the rest of the cast, if you have not done so already, how much we are anticipating this film.

The new RENT site sounds like its going to be awsome! *nearly falls over from excitement.* And thanks, as always, for the update. 
Always fun to read. Very understandable about the studio only wanting you to post about the movie on the official site at this point. But I (and many others, I'm sure) really appreciate you keeping us posted with such regularity. It's been such a pleasure. Anyways, good luck with filming and all that.

Yeah seriously, that might even be an understatement. But either way, we love reading your posts so we're glad you never ran off screaming in the opposite direction of your laptop. Anyways, I hope you'll keep chatting with us nutheads even if you can't talk about RENT: the movie anymore.

Anthony~ Thanks for the up-date! You continuously WOW me with how genuine and kind you are. Even though a majority of the people on this thread have never met you, you make us feel as though we are each a friend and you care specifically about each one of us. I hope that if a day comes that I reach a level of success you have I can be as genuine and warm as you.

Dear Anthony(and everyone else!)
My uncle and his boyfriend want me and my mom to go to NYC and see SPAMALOT and Wicked. But my mom and dad are worried, because the dates are close to when I will be restarting school(I'm an exchange student in Japan until late July) back home. Itold her that it doesn't matter, and we should go anyway. I tried to get them to add RENT in too, but my mom doesn't like it, and my uncle's seen it(OBC!) so that was a no go. The only broadway production i have seen is The Producers.
Do you think the oppurtunity to see Wicked and SPAMALOT on broadway, expanding my horizions, and seeing my uncle whom ihaven't seen in over a year is worth missing a bit of school(since you've seen both,I wondered about your thoughts on the subject)??
and thanks for the info on the Rent homepage. I don't know how much you know about HTML and CSS and such for the new site, or i would geek out onit and askabout that XD

Posted: 4/9/05 at 11:43pmJust a quick question for Anthony and anyone else who wants to answer, there was some talk on another thread about seeing the cast of Wicked play one another's roles for one night and I think it'd be really interesting if they did that with the OBC of RENT for the 10 year anniversary of the opening of the show or something. I, for one, would love to see Anthony play Roger and Adam play Mark just to see their takes on the characters and so on. What do you all think? A little random, I know but the thought just popped into my head.
