Anatol Kuragin"
Why Dolly Levi? She is a warm, lovable character."
She's a con woman and manipulative sociopath.
Sorry you fell for it too x"
Correct, Impossible2. Over 20 years ago someone posted on the old Usenet group RATM something to the effect of "The problem with Dolly Levi is that you never know whether you want to hug her or slap her. Often at the same time."
So in that sense, Dolly is not a truly good analogy because some people always want to hug him while educated adults always want to slap him viciously. Never both at the same time for anybody.

I think this is the definitive answer. Most of the others listed here have too much charm, intelligence, and/or self-awareness.

I was going to put that, but then I thought that Hades was too smart to remind me of Trump. Thoughts?

Charley Kringas Inc said: "Patrick Bateman is definitely the best one so far - both are great stand-ins for the violent, perpetually-forgiven systems of capitalism. I can't remember if or how it's quoted in the show, but the last paragraph from the book feels chillingly relevant:
"There are no more barriers to cross. All I have in common with the uncontrollable and the insane, the vicious and the evil, all the mayhem I have caused and my utter indifference toward it I have now surpassed. My pain is constant and sharp and I do not hope for a better world for anyone, in fact I want my pain to be inflicted on others. I want no one to escape, but even after admitting this there is no catharsis, my punishment continues to elude me and I gain no deeper knowledge of myself; no new knowledge can be extracted from my telling. This confession has meant nothing."
The main difference is thatTrump has killed many more people."
I think that Patrick Bateman is too smart -- if totally insane -- to remind me of Trump. I find it hard to believe that Trump would have such complex inner thoughts. He is more of stupid, soulless, lying, bigoted self-promoter.

"Hades in Hadestown."
Is that a joke? Hades is thrilling, gorgeous, commanding, bold and fascinating. So, nope. The answer to the OP's question is no one. No playwright would ever write a character as low as Dump. Not ever.

This made me LOL. ( why hasn’t their been a Ubu Rex/Roi musical yet!?)
I’ll add The Boss, The Adding Machine.

Well Hades is a fictional character, so comparing him to a real person is difficult. Besides he clearly has a conscience and is intelligent so he still isn't comparable to Trump.
Most Cluster B's are really pretty dumb. Trump is in the public eye 24/7 so it is so hard for him to hide his stupidity as he is constantly having to 'think' on the fly with completely compromised brain function.
But most of them behind the act/mask of normality are as dumb AF x

People's reaction to a sociopath doesn't make the subject any less of a sociopath...

Even though it was written over 50 - 60 years ago, any of the politicians in "L'il Abner" !! All you have to do is listen to "The Country's In The Very Best Of Hands"...
a revival of this could not be more timely. Great songs, score...book would need work for today. Also. the choreography was incredible. (Michael Kidd I think) ...this is an "uncut gem" from the 50's..

Well "crossed off his list" is a little extreme. He's just very disappointed in Hughe's lack of awareness.
