It didn't recoup in 3 years off-Broadway, and the wonderful Deborah Cox is not going to move the needle. Someone is just looking to take some huge write-offs because there is no other explanation. That math is not mathing.
But if they're gonna do it, they need to bring back Russell Daniels, and if they don't, they need to rotate in big drag names like Trixie Mattel or something. The mind truly reels as to what would be needed to even get a big house to 50% attendance for Titanique, a show that I cannot stress enough is wonderful and I adore. In the Daryl Roth. Or maybe Circle in the Square (which is off the table)."
They should make an actual non-parody Titanic Musical based on the movie, that score would be incredible imagine "My Heart will Go On" belted out on a Broadway Stage. They could install a pool in the stage similar to what Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has but bigger for the Jack and Rose door scene.

oh no Jsquared/Sutton. let me know how many sources you need to apologize. and then ask me what is going in the majestic...
via Jeffrey Richards' Broadway's Best Shows newsletter that's usually accurate...
We understand Titanique will be taking up residence at the St. James Theatre this spring. Will it swim or sink on Broadway? We think swim…

Quite certain they make a lot of money off of you and all your alternate personalities on here. Doesn't change the fact that you attacked me for telling you something that is now confirmed. For the record I am not saying it is a good idea -just that it is happening. The Majestic booking is way worse if it is true- but both are crazy given the lack of New Musicals. Really tone deaf by the owners.
Titanique coming to Broadway at all is somewhat risky but understandable especially in a light season. But coming to the St. James? That is unhinged behavior.

I wonder if they opened on bway and then toured if that would somehow make more sense?

It already had a sitdown in Chicago. Not really seeing the reason to go to Broadway if only to maybe pick up the Best Musical award in a very light season for licensing?

Rather than keeping the St James or Majestic dark all summer, might ATC/the Shuberts make it feasible for smaller shows to economically work for a limited run? The other possbility is a show that's been "circling" but initially was planning to come in next season due to percieved competition/theatre availability decide to open in the later part of Spring 2026? Unless I'm missing something, the only other new musicals planned for this season are Lost Boys and Schmigidoon. There's also the Rock Horror revival and Cats The Jellicle Ball (which I assume will be deemed a revival). IF a production is really in a postion to open near the close of the season, it may be a good opportunity for them.

Sutton, ACL, Squared...any chance there is an apology coming my way? Being wrong or uniformed is not a bad thing but attacking people with the correct info is just a weird personality flaw. Accepting apologies from any one of your screen names. Or create a new one today to do it. Just a reminder....I did give you the beaches info below...

And you really won't believe me about who is going into the Majestic but since you don't trust anything unless one of your other profiles says it I will just hold onto that info. lol. Gonna go enjoy the beaches here.

I did say on this thread that Paddington could go in here, which is possible. With how well Paddington has done well in London (financially & critically) I would be certain that all 3 major theatre operators would offer Sonia Friedman a theatre, in the same way that Harry Potter, Hamilton or The Phantom of the Opera etc was. So if Sonia wanted the St James she would get the St James. If this is the case they could put filler shows in until 2027. So was thinking they could transfer the West End/Tour production of Mary Poppins or Sunset Boulevard would be great for a return for a limited run.

Probably be dark for awhile. Pattington The Musical in about two years is possible. Big House to fill and a small off Broadway musical spoof isn't the answer.

Byrne just announced late spring tour dates, so it seems his team gave up on trying to secure the St. James.

I think this was a pure rumor based on a rolling stone article that said he wanted to film the tour like American Utopia. I just looked at his instagram and it's another major leg to this tour so it must have been in the works for months.

That is a massive flop waiting to happen. I said it before and I will say it again, I think it would be much better if the St. James went dark so that it can get a massive renovation that it so desperately needs (especially for the legroom). Paddington has a better chance of success than Titanique
St James just had a major Reno a few years ago before Frozen. Those seats will stay crazy tight for many years to come….

Completely wrong and incapable of admitting a mistake. I am not one of you guys with 20 profiles or a complete lack of information about Broadway until after the fact. You were wrong and slightly abusive,.,..kinda makes you the troll

Paddington is perfect for the St James - the kids don't need leg room!

David Byrne announced US concert dates through to May 17, 2026, but nothing yet for New York. A summer residency perhaps?
