I can't vouch from personal experience, but he's posted pictures/video on Instagram of signing for people who wrote via mail. (Including one video where his dog Georgie had chewed on some of the mail!)
Has anyone heard back from Anaïs Mitchell and/or Rachel Chavkin? I sent them letters, both addressed to the Kerr, about a month after the Tonys...I wouldn't expect a response this soon anyway, especially considering that Anaïs has been on tour/vacation outside the US...I'm mostly worried that the letters might've gotten lost somewhere due to the fact that I sent them by the time they stopped frequenting the theatre.
Greetings! We went to see Bettlejuice yesterday, and since it was raining, nobody came out from the stage door to sign. I want to send my Playbill to get a few signatures, but I'm afraid it won't come back and I will lose it. (Unfortunately I didn't grab two.) Any suggestions? Also, what address should I sent it to at the Winter Garden Theatre?
Help an ignorant old(er) person out: When you’re talking about signed Playbill requests, are you sending your own Playbill with a SASE? Or just writing a letter saying how much you loved the show and asking for one?
Asking on behalf of my friend who went to Beetlejuice yesterday with her daughter who dressed as Lydia and LOVED it, but didn’t get to go to the stage door. (They were in the front row and apparently Sophia smiled at her and said “great costume” at the end of the curtain call, and my friend’s daughter lost her mind.) Anyway, she asked me about trying to get something signed as a Christmas present for her, and I don’t know the protocol these days. Thank you!!
Just send a nice letter asking for one with your SASE, and they should send back. I got one after about 18 days.. this was a few months ago though, and as they're about to be in the midst of BCEFA fundraising, it's possible they could ask you for a donation (usually around $20) which you would do on the BCEFA website and then send your receipt to the theater, and they'll send back the playbill in your SASE
Wrote to Scotland, PA hoping maybe they weren’t collecting but they are indeed asking $20 for a playbill. Not bad and I’ll probably still donate, just a pain to send another letter and another SASE.
Heard back from ‘Seared’ at MCC Theater and ‘Macbeth’ from CSC. I received cast-signed programs from both, but instead of a traditional playbill, ‘Macbeth’ sent me a makeshift program that was printed on 8.5x11 sheets of paper with the company’s poster on the front that’s signed by the whole cast.
"Mostly, I loved the size of these people's emotions. Nobody has emotions this size anymore. Outsized emotions. Operatic emotions. Kushemski and Vanda are like Tristan and Isolde, they're Paolo and Francesca. Nobody's in total thrall like this anymore. Nobody's overcome by passion like this, or goes through this kind of rage." I’m surprised this thread has gone 7 months without an update (though Coronavirus definitely had a hand in that).
Today, I got a lovely surprise in the mail.
I had sent a fan letter to Kristin Chenoweth after her “For The Girls” concert at the Nederlander last year along with my Playbill for her to sign. Since I sent it 10 months ago, I had forgotten all about it and figured it got lost in the wind (as it sometimes) does.
Today, I got the Playbill back in the mail (can’t post a picture from my phone) and she wrote: “To Jordan - Your fan letter made my year! God loves you and so do I! - Kristin Chenoweth”
I nearly crapped and when I opened it, I was a mess. (I can’t even remember what I wrote since it was so long ago.)

I wrote to Rachel Chavkin in December 2019. I sent my letter to A.R.T. while she was there with Moby-Dick. I had a questions about Moby-Dick and Hadestown so I sent it to A.R.T. because I wasn’t sure the next time she’s be at the Kerr. Anyway, I thought the letter got lost because I never mailed to A.R.T. before. I’m guessing her mail got forwarded to the Kerr because she wrote back! I wasn’t expecting a reply, but I received a letter back in April 2020. Her reply was lovely, kind, and she answered my question thoroughly.

My main question was regarding Hadestown staging. I noticed something but was confused. I was looking for clarity which she gave and I’m thankful for because now I understand the show as a whole better.

I received a very nice reply from Katrina Lenk. It was an email because due to a donation I made to Covenant House when she participated in the annual Sleep-Out.
Just realized this thread is almost 15 years old...Time flies! Hope everyone is well and safe this weekend.
I was lucky enough to see the original company of Wicked way back in December of 2003. I would love nothing more than to get Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel to sign my Playbill. I have two of them, so if I never get the one back in the process, at least I have the other one. Any advice on how I can get them to both sign it would be awesome. Thank you!
Does anyone know if there's a standard BC/EFA donation for a cast-signed playbill now that things have (mostly) reopened? Given there's not going to be a red bucket collection this year, I'd love to send away if they're going to do them at all.

They are doing red buckets of some sort. GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY had the buckets out and were selling signed posters for $100.

Just got a partial signed Playbill back from Chicken & Biscuits (May be full but I can’t make all the signatures out). Took about six weeks (and they’ve since closed - obviously).
I still have requests out for American Utopia, GTFNC, Six, Flying Over Sunset, Caroline or Change, and Mrs. DOUBTFIRE,
