I just cannot see why the tony would go to foster she in my opinion does not deserve it. I think that the amazing daniel radliffe will win . I just cannot see what katherline marshal was doing.

So is that Daniel Radcliffe for Leading Actress?

Best Orchestrations...
(Winner: WOMEN ON THE VERGE)

I would love for that to happen, IdinaBellFoster. One of the things that stuck out to me, along with Benanti's performance.

REVIVAL of a MUSICAL
duh

REVIVAL OF PLAY
Born Yesterday
Normal Heart *** FTMFW
Importance of Being Earnest
Mercant of Venice

I don't understand why people are not showing enough love to BENGAL TIGER???? It is a freaking amazing play.... it got great reviews... great word of mouth on the streets... and it was nominated for a pulitzer.... why count it out???? It was my favorite new play of the season... yep over good people and jerusalem...

also.. maybe I missed this... Was victoria clark deemed eligible in supporting only??? She was nominated for Lead actresss... in one of the other awards...

and Marla Mindelle is fierce... plus it didn't matter who played that part... the part itself is tony nomination worthy.... just like when I predicted that whoever played Effie White in the dreamgirls movie would win an oscar... it didn't matter who it was... it's the meaty role itself....

Read Sutton Foster's reviews. Read the reviews of the production. Then ask your question again.

To be fair, there were several reviewers who felt she was miscast.

When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

There should be only 4 nominees for Best Actress in a Musical, since there are only 6 qualifiers. At least that's what the rules say.

BEST MUSICAL
Catch Me If You Can
Sister Act
The Book of Mormon
The Scottsboro Boys
Winner: The Book of Mormon (easily--"Catch Me"'s spot could go a variety of ways, but the other three seem like locks to be nominated)

BEST PLAY
Good People
Jerusalem
The Mother****** With The Hat
War Horse
Winner: War Horse (I've been thinking "Good People", but "War Horse's momentum is becoming too much to resist)

How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying
Winner: Anything Goes (easily)

BEST REVIVAL OF A PLAY
Born Yesterday

BEST CHOREOGRAPHY
Rob Ashford (How To Succeed...)
Kathleen Marshall (Anything Goes)
Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon)
Susan Stroman (The Scottsboro Boys)

Frances McDormand (Good People)
Lily Rabe (The Merchant of Venice)

BEST FEATURED ACTOR IN A PLAY
Mackenzie Crook (Jerusalem)
Raul Esparza (Arcadia)
John Benjamin Hickey (The Normal Heart)
Evan Jonigkeit (High)
Robert Sean Leonard (Born Yesterday)
Winner: Hickey (really this is wide open and I see Crook having a good shot as well, but "Normal Heart"'s momentum has picked up enough to make Hickey the frontrunner)

BEST FEATURED ACTRESS IN A PLAY
Ellen Barkin (The Normal Heart)
Edie Falco (The House of Blue Leaves)
Renee Elise Goldsberry (Good People)
Judith Light (Lombardi)
Estelle Parsons (Good People)

Josh Gad (The Book of Mormon)
Daniel Radcliffe (How To Succeed...)
Andrew Rannells (The Book of Mormon)
Tony Sheldon (Priscilla Queen of the Desert)

BEST ACTRESS IN A MUSICAL
Sutton Foster (Anything Goes)
Patina Miller (Sister Act)
Donna Murphy (The People In The Picture)
Sherie Renee Scott (Women of the Verge...)
Winner: Foster (Murphy could pull off the upset, but everyone seems to have fallen in love with Foster's Reno Sweeney)

Adam Godley (Anything Goes)
Chester Gregory (Sister Act)
John Laroquette (How To Succeed...)
Rory O'Malley (The Book of Mormon)
Tom Wopat (Catch Me If You Can)

Winner: War Horse (even with more deserving nominees, shows often sweep tech categories)

BEST LIGHTING DESIGN OF A MUSICAL
Anything Goes
Priscilla Queen of the Desert
The Book of Mormon
Wonderland
Winner: Book of Mormon (not enough love for Wonderland to pose much of a threat)

BEST SOUND DESIGN OF A MUSICAL
Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson
Sister Act
The Book of Mormon
Wonderland
Winner: Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson (they'll want to give it something, and it's an obvious choice)

BEST COSTUME DESIGN OF A MUSICAL
Anything Goes
How To Succeed...
Priscilla Queen of the Desert
The Book of Mormon
Winner: Priscilla (flashy costumes take the prize)

BEST SCENIC DESIGN OF A MUSICAL

You all honestly think that Mormon's pleasant score is going to win over Kander's best since Chicago? Don't forget, this was the last K&E show. Ever. I mean, Mormon could pull a Producers and sweep everything, but I'm not too sure about that one.

I'd say the chances of SCOTTSBORO BOYS winning score is slim to none. MORMON will win in a walk.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

Blockhead, yes Mantello got largely positive reviews as well, but nowhere near the raves Rylance came away with. It's a brutally competitive category with Pacino and Bedford definitely in the mix as well, but given the work Rylance is doing, I don't see any way they don't reward him with the Tony.

Here's the "Bergen Record" (Robert Feldberg) predictions: (I agree with most of them---I haven't seen the plays)

I am surpised at a few name droppings in the feature actor in a play! More like excited. :)

Why don't you just go to a Jim Parsons forum to talk about this because it sounds like a broken record here.
