No, the OP claimed it was verified by Telecharge. Someone else here claimed that they talked to Telecharge and whoever he spoke with, knew of no date Andrea would be out.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
I have tickets for Sunday, Sept 1. I'm all for vacation time and I wasn't going just to see Andrea but the fact that I'll most likely miss her return by one performance is rather irksome.
That said, hope she enjoys her time off and has some R & R!
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”
~ Muhammad Ali
Assuming it's just R&R, I hope she gets Yannick and Co. to carry her around wherever she goes on a palanquin.
Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.
Matt1, the people you know are lucky. When I saw Pippin in May, Patina was out due to illness. The theatre manager absolutely refused to exchange my ticket. I even offered to exchange my more expensive mezz seat for a standing room. He wouldn't budge.
I know she won the Tony and her performance is much talked about but she really is only in it for 10 minutes, if that. To me, it would be a much bigger loss to miss Patina Miller. I understand being disappointed, I certainly have been when my favorites are out but I'm sure Tovah will be more than capable and the quality of the show won't suffer in any noticeable way, especially to the average patron who probably does not have a strong attachment to Andrea or any other actor specifically.
^ that's how I'm feeling. I have tickets to see this in a couple weeks. I'm bummed about missing Andrea Martin, but I would be a lot more disappointed if Patina Miller was out. I'm also looking forward to seeing Tovah! It's kind of exciting to be able to see someone who is just replacing for a limited time! A lot less people get the chance to see Tovah!

I'm kinda excited about the idea of Tovah. Saw her as Mama Rose like two years ago and it was a very interesting performance. Curious what she might bring to Pippin
Andrea deserves it! She is giving her all every night, and who knows why she needs the month off. I'm sure her understudy/replacement will be wonderful, and her absence won't take away from the magic of the show. Now all we need is Stritch to take over.

Hopefully when Tovah drops the robe she isn't wearing those horrendous granny panties that she was shaking in the Gypsy sizzle reel that got pulled because it was laughable. lol
"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal
"I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello
I guess I'm just a little annoyed that there's been no announced of this, unless she's not missing an entire month. Maybe just two weeks, but then there'd be no reason to bring in Tovah for such a short time.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
That's exactly why I said it. I joined an internet theater message board less than a month ago. That doesn't make me a jag off (although hearing something no one says anymore makes me giggle). I have worked in NYC theater for seven years and there is no caste system for a internet message board. How ridiculous. Stop writing things you know nothing about. Thanks!
I think I know something about how this board works.
See? You still come off as an entitled prick!

Ya got guts, Sutton, taking on Diva and Namo less than a month after joining.
Enjoy your time here.
Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)
You'd think, having an entire 7 years of working in NYC theatre, he would realize that the performers don't have to come out and spend time with the audience members.
Or that someone who is Ms. Martins age, or gave an exhausting performance, would rather conserve her energy for the next performance. Or get something to eat, or maybe spend time with her family, or have a personal life
But, no. She must be a terrible person because she won't say hello to him after a performance.
