i'll bet a shiny quarter on the next wicked tour lineup to be miss clarke and victoria matlock.
"Grease," the fourth revival of the season, is the worst show in the history of theater and represents an unparalleled assault on Western civilization and its values. - Michael Reidel
AMEN, freeadmission. I think she has a nice quality to her voice, but it needs a LOT more training so she's not reaching so much for notes, but "floating" over them. Her acting is quite good. I think she needs to take on a less demanding role in another b-way show and continue with her voice training. I think Katie has tremendous potential (heck, to graduate from college within the week you make your broadway debut is an accomplishment in itself). I just wouldn't want her to damage her voice by doing the wrong things.
Hell, she's starring in a show with one of the top vocal teachers(Vicki Clark) also Patti is another great vocal teacher.
If I were her, I would be taking lessons from Vicki. No doubt Vicki could help her a lot. And I'm sure after performing with her all the time, Vicki knows what her voice needs. Updated On: 6/19/06 at 10:43 AM
To add to what Hanna was saying: If she continues with some vocal training (especially with the likes of Ms. Clark), she could very well be one of the best sopranos on Broadway in a very long time. I mean, shoot, she's only TWENTY-ONE right now and, for so young an age (vocally speaking) she has incredible skill! Tack on a little more training and, in a year or two, she could be up there with the best of the best!
The other end could also be in store...this could be the only gig she gets for a long time. I mean, you've all said it, she isn't ready for alot of roles BECAUSE she was so young coming into Broadway...so sometimes that helps and hurts you.
I think it will be a long time before we see Katie Clark in a Broadway Show for a while. Tour maybe, Off Broadway/regional maybe...in fact yeah probably. but not the big show.
DIET???? That's just rude. Katie Clarke is BEAUTIFUL and does NOT need to lose weight. Please, statements like that are why so many actresses have eating disorders!
CurtainPullDowner - for someone who has no skills in grammar whatsoever and seem to arbitrarily capitalize whichever letters you like, you are quite rude!
"I don't wanna see that!" -Aunt Sassy (as played by Valerie Cherish) on Room & Bored
Her acting is more than good. Watch the scene where she's waiting to show Margaret her wedding dress and veil and overhears the phone conversation between Roy and Margaret. That's a wonderful bit of acting seen during the telecast and in the performances I've seen her in...
I saw her in Piazza in December and her weight was fine. The televised production last week did make her look heavier. In fact, I was kind of surprised at just how MUCH heavier she looked on TV. I guess she just has one of those bodies that isn't necessarily made for TV!
