I thought it was progressives who were against this show, lol"
I haven't seen anything negative regarding SLIH trending anywhere.

IMO “Some Like It Hot” looked the best of all the performances. High energy, looks like a big splashy tap dance musical. Great song too!

Who the hell cares about Twitter these days? Countless celebrities, fashion brands, major personalities have deleted their accounts as have countless people I know who had Twitter. I never got on to Twitter and deleted my Facebook page over a decade ago. Both were always the most toxic social media platforms from the get-go.
Oooh, that performance by the cast of "A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical" was certainly "a thing". Seeing Will Swenson playing Neil Diamond wearing Liza Minnelli's jumpsuit was not on my bingo card.

BrodyFosse123 posting this ironic (or is that moronic) post was not on my bingo card either.
Are the Rockettes typically that… lacking in diversity?
That was more diverse than some past years, where there was an all white line with a token black performer wearing white skin tone tights to make all the kicking legs look identical.

My jaw just dropped.
These were all solid performances!
The pre-taped numbers were lively. SIX was a rousing send-off to next week’s departing cast, while Moulin Rouge! rattled off their silly love songs two blocks south. I liked Ashley and Derek but Aaron is missed.
Who better than Lea and the cast of Funny Girl to open up the NBC telecast… what did it for me was “Hey, Mr. Macy, here I am” (though R.H. Macy actually came before Brice’s time).
Those first five minutes of The Lion King never disappoint, though that sun rising in the background (along with the giraffes slowly walking) was missed this morning, as was Tshidi Manye.
The title song from Some Like It Hot remains an earworm, nice Nicholaw tap break as well. I know that’s the Act One closer, but what’s its context, out of curiosity? Also, Christian was notably missing, and I’ve also been wanting to know, do the three leads play their own instruments in the show?
A Beautiful Noise brought out the sequins, and Will Swenson brought down the house. Loved the Savannah + Hoda / crowd shots during their two choruses of “Sweet Caroline.” The swings were incorporated for this performance, along with “The Noise”, good inclusion.
This year, I’m feeling grateful for all of you guys on these boards and for getting the chance to attend live theatre again.
Happy Thanksgiving! Eat lots of turkey tonight!!!
I had to leave before Mariah performed. I have it recorded. How’d she do?

Her lip syncing was off, but she still brought a good energy and performance.

I feel like tap dancing is … tired

You would be wrong.

Since when? It's just not so common in shows these days.
I seem to recall an article in the New York Times just a few years ago about overuse of tap dancing in new musicals. I think this was around the time of either Finding Neverland or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory when it seemed like almost every new Broadway show had a obligatory tap dancing number.

Agreed on both the CBS performances. Even with the lip-syncing, the NBC performances felt a lot more dynamic.
Lea Michele has won. I don't know what the competition was, but the way she opened the parade was a declaration of victory.
I liked Some Like It Hot until the tap dancing started. Good song choice. Hoping it's still around by spring so I can see it.
I think "we get to sing along to Sweet Caroline" was enough to sell tickets for A Beautiful Noise to a lot of people. I was most intrigued by the diversity of the chorus. You never see a group of dancers like that.
Of course The Lion King works better in the theater, but I still appreciated seeing the puppets and makeup and costumes so clearly. Some of it could use a refresh but a lot of those choices are really quite smart. I appreciated why it's been running so long. And the current Rafiki sounded great.
The Philadelphia (my hometown) parade had the Tina tour, Jagged Little Pill tour, Mandy Gonzalez, Sheryl Lee Ralph and Princess Debbie Gibson.
might be on 6abc.com
Do producers pay to get this amazing exposure, or is it a gift from Macy's? I was surprised & Juliet and K-Pop were not on, though.
Loved all the numbers with the exception of a Beautiful Noise. That was pretty sad; I felt sorry for Will.
I believe producers have to pay for the Macy's performance.

Hardly.. It is fabulous for a lot of people. I adored all the tap in Some Like It Hot, Funny Girl and the few musicals that show it off.
What I find tired are the negative Nelly's who have to bad mouth everything.

I missed the parade, and was wondering how Dionne Warwick was?
She does actually sound like Isaac Hayes in her old age usually.
This woman was my favorite singer when I was growing up, and I've seen her on stage quite a few times. I even got to see her accompanied by Burt Bacharach on stage at Radio City. Lots of famous people were in that audience.
Later I unfortunately saw her berate a poor audience member from the stage, when she was handed a note by an usher in the Oakdale Theater in Wallingford, Ct. The woman had an emergency call at the box office, that was serious enough to get her from her seat. Ms Warwick said what an annoyance it was and stood in dead silence while the woman got up from her seat towards the front, and watched her walk silently up the aisle of the theater (terrified probably of the news and the embarassment she was subjected to). The audience boo'd Warwick.
Then there was the AIDS Foundation money that she "misappropriated" and squandered on four star accomodations for herself, while putting on assistants and other untalented people on stage as performers.
I lost my admiration and actually threw out the records and cd's.
But, I am curious to know how she did performing at the parade, and if it was a bad Mariah-like lip sync.

Agree with posters who found the Rockettes lack of diversity bothersome... but then they always seem hardly human, like Fembots, which is part of their fascination so it's hard to gage what their racial and ethnic composition is. I enjoyed watching them.
In fact, I enjoyed the whole parade. As Macy's as a national brand and retail force becomes more and more beggared by Amazon the parade seems more and more quaint and frugal. I fear one day we may see "Amazon presents the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade" in front of the "The Macy's Condos".

She sang (lip synced) "What The World Needs Now Is Love", a song that she's appropriated since the '70s that people today believe she originated it and had a hit with when in fact it was Jackie De Shannon who did.

Thank you CarlosAlberto!
She did think that she owned every Bacharach song. It burned her that Cilla Black and Dusty Springfield and even the Carpenters had hits with "her" songs lol.
