Mel Gibson. His speaking voice is so rich that it would be a pleasure to listen to him as Macbeth or Petruchio.

Gwyneth Paltrow ,another vote for Emma Thompson.
I have NEVER met Cheyenne Jackson. I have never hung out with him in his dressing room, he did not tweet me, he never bought me a beverage, and he mostly certainly didn't tickle me. . .that is all.

Julia Andrews (I don't know if she has already been on Broadway before, but if she has then her again.)
Are you for real?
Are you for real?
Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

Oh dear,
I assure, Julie Andrews has been on Broadway. She's kind of a legend, you know?

I 2nd Judi Dench
Also... my picks:
Christopher Walken (He's done his share of acting on Broadway, but it would be awesome if he took the stage again. For once I'd actually consider doing the stage door...)
Patricia Routledge (Saw her in London about 2 years ago... would love to see her here. Her last hoorah on Broadway was 30 years ago...)

I've come this far with the truth of the heart. Deep down inside I think we're all the same. Try not to judge and never shame... I do believe people are good... they just want hope and respect... to be understood ~Melissa Etheridge

Queen Latifah -- and not just because of her performance in the film version of "Chicago." I loved hearing her sing in "Living Out Loud." Her rendition of "Lush Life" is absolutely gorgeous!

I think many people already know my first choice.
Lauren Graham would be AMAZING on stage. I have also heard her say that she always wanted to return to the stage because that's where she started. She's also a Musical Theatre nut.
Also, Emma Thompson. So much.

Diane Keaton, believe it or not, actually started on Broadway, in the ensemble of Hair back in the late 60's early 70's.

Anthony Warlow. If he ever decides to come here, I will find a way to raise the money (sell my car? take out a loan? walk the streets?) and fly to NYC. I love him THAT MUCH.

I swear, the second I read the title of this thread I thought: EMMA THOMPSON.
She is a goddess.
Also:
Dame Maggie Smith (again)
Dame Helen Mirren (again)
Charlotte Rampling (She's appeared on stage in Paris, but never Broadway)
Immelda Staunton (appared on the West End a lot)
Julie Christie
(I do love those Brits, what can I say?)
Oh and more than anything - Jeff Bridges.

I wouldn't be upset if Jake Gyllenhaal wanted to do some broadway. Mmmm...perhaps him and Christian Bale together. That would be perfect. For me anyways.

I second Anthony Warlow. Definitely my favorite musical theatre performer--would love to see (and hear) him live and not just on recordings and video.
BTW..several people have mentioned Tony Shalhoub..in case you didn't know, Tony appeared on Broadway on three different occasions: The Odd Couple (1985), The Heidi Chronicles (replacement 1990) , and in Conversations with My Father (1992). Of course, it would be nice for him to come BACK to Broadway :)
