How would they be able to pinpoint who in the cast said anything, though?

...how do you think rumors spread in the first place? NDAs are broken every day.
I know! I missed buying tickets for my birthday - their first week of previews - and was like "Oh, I'll just splurge for a front row ticket." - thinking it'd be like $200. I was sooo sooo wrong. Who the **** can afford this?! I was hoping for at least a rush, but I guess not.

I have a feeling the producers or someone in their pricing team must be studying the resale market. If the average price of center orch is being sold for over $800 on stubhub right now for a weekend performance, then it makes sense for the box office to price a front row seat for $750.
Hamilton sells $849 premium seats. If this show wins the Tony for Best Revival and if Bette wins the Tony as well, I can only imagine how much premium tix will cost this summer!

Yup. Expected for all performances except Tuesday nights on and after June 13.
Edit: Actually, I just checked the Telecharge page and this disclaimer is on its Overview page --
*On Tuesdays beginning June 13, 2017, the role of Dolly Levi will be played by Donna Murphy. Donna Murphy will also perform the role of Dolly Levi on June 27 - July 2, July 5 - 9, Sunday evening - July 30, September 6 - 10, Sunday evening - October 15, Monday evening - October 30, November 1 - 5, Friday - November 24 @ 2pm, and Sunday evening - January 7.
I'm specifically curious about the Wednesday, May 24th matinee. I figure TONY voters will be in-and-out during this time, so, I'm hoping she'll be on at that performance...
Matt Baume interviewed Dan Savage on his podcast today. The discussion turns to musical theater and Bette Midler's Hello Dolly! comes up at the 25 minute mark.
Dan reminds Matt that Cornelius is a 33 year old virgin who was originated by Charles Nelson Reilly. They conclude that Josh Gad would be ideal casting today if it was done in the spirit of the show.
They have been loading in the set this week at the Shubert theater, and I briefly caught sight of the stage yesterday when the door was open. I can't tell if the designs are exact duplicates of the original Broadway production but they are very similar.

I'm in a rush to go to work, but two quick questions: Who will be the standby/understudy for Bette Midler? Perhaps this has been answered before, but I can't go thru 34 pages just right now. Thanks...Roman in Austin, Texas (a blue city in a sea of red)
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
How much were they selling orchestra tickets for originally? I saw a guy on ebay had a copy of his ticket and it was $189 in the front mezzanine. Was orchestra the same price or higher?
I assume that Linda Mugleston will be the regular understudy.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."

I bought 2 left orchestra tickets (row N) for $179 each with fees, a few days after they went on sale. $189 seems to make sense.
I was just listening to Before The Parade Passes By from the movie soundtrack and was somehow transported to a theater, imagining Bette Midler performing that song. I'm SO excited ugh!
