That's not how it works. If you had it, you were contagious. Just because no one else tested positive (which could have been a false negative) doesn't mean they weren't at risk (and even if another member of your household tested positive, it would not mean it necessarily came from you). A recent study showed that there was a 32% chance of same household infection."
I can’t wait until we aren’t talking about this non stop
Come From Away is scheduled to go on today with 8 standbys in, including Marika Aubrey from the tour (Beverly & Others). If you haven't seen her, she's wonderful! I'd definitely be heading to the Schoenfeld if I was in NYC today.
Wish I could be at COME FROM AWAY. Any chance you know who's on for who?

Marika Aubrey posted on her Instagram that she's playing Beverly/Annette all week. She was flown in just before Christmas.
Also, apparently two former cast members are in the show today. Curious who they are.

My trip (January 4-6) is quickly approaching. As of now, I still plan to go especially because my hotel reservation is non-refundable. Of course, if things get even worse Covid-wise (as they very possibly will), the shows I planned this trip for (Company, Assassins, and Caroline, or Change) start canceling multiple performances or go dark, and/or if Broadway itself goes on hiatus…then I’ll most likely just try to get my hotel reservation refunded and stay home.
I almost always agree with Hogan, but I am wondering if a hiatus is or is not the way to go. A hiatus certainly benefits the traveling Broadway fan the most as they are relieved both of the uncertainty of whether booking a trip is wise and of the frustration when their shows cancel, sometimes last minute.
I can see it might benefit shows that are struggling right now, but don’t feel they can say (or literally can’t) that they specifically are simply taking a hiatus. I’m not sure if the theaters they are in would even allow that. Would they still be liable to pay the theaters rent even if they closed for a month or two? I’m guessing yes. Plus, a specific show deciding to go dark for a month or two while others continue would probably lead to it losing momentum and bad word-of-mouth. But if all of Broadway goes on hiatus, then these struggling shows might have a little better path forward?
Lastly, for the cast & crew, a guess if there is a full hiatus, I suppose they can apply for unemployment again, but that process isn’t necessarily smooth or efficient or equal to their current salary.
If Omricon turned out to be more deadly to the vaccinated/boosted, I can see it being the easier to decide to go on hiatus, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. And the trend seems to be that the virus is mutating itself to be less harmful to the vaxxed and boosted.
Obviously, I’m not an immunologist nor am I someone with intimate knowledge of specific shows’ financial receipts.
It does seem Broadway performers are not in favor of a hiatus. One performer I follow on Instagram (who I’m not mentioning by name so as not violate rules of the BWW chat forum) has been vocal that he is definitely not in favor of a hiatus and believes it would be financial ruin for the industry while acknowledging the current situation we all find ourselves in is absurd
I too look forward to a day where we aren’t discussing this.
Overall, seems like a Broadway-wide hiatus would benefit the Broadway fan (especially tourists) & maybe (?) struggling shows, but might hurt performers/crew/FOH staff and shows that are doing okay now. The good news (knock on wood) is we aren’t really seeing Broadway performers getting hospitalized and dying from Covid now.
Pearl Sun and Holly Ann Butler were brought back into swing for the show. All standbys on except for Josh Breckenridge.

I know some shows are pulling tour cast members, but would they / could they call in someone who has left the show to come on for a short time (ex: Afra Hines from Hadestown)?
To my knowledge, Lion King, Chicago and Book of Mormon have brought in former cast members from former companies to keep their show going.

I see that there are $30 tickets online for Caroline or change for tonight. I’m trying to decide if I want to buy one, but I don’t want to buy it and then get told an hour before that’s canceled.
So Come From Away (w/8 standbys), Tina and Moulin Rouge all returned. Mockingbird and Music Man set to return tonight. Let's hope for no more further cancellations.

Angoradebs, The understudy portrayed Beverly and others during the tour stop in Jacksonville both times I saw it, a couple of weeks ago. I threw away my playbill so I'll ask you. Is Marika the understudy for the tour? I did a search and saw her picture and it looks like the person (without a wig) that I saw. If it was, she is excellent in the role.

Marika is the Principal Beverly on the tour. It seems, from the company on social media, that she was up in New York on vacation this week, and they called here this morning to see if she would like to make her Broadway debut at 1pm-she does not appear to have been flown in by the production; she was just in the right place at the right time to make this work.
Not sure when Aubrey got pulled from the tour exactly, but she arrived in NYC last week. She was originally a standby on the tour when it first started and then got bumped up to Beverly fulltime.

Thanks for the info. On a positive note, how many of the actors/actresses pulled from the tours of various shows are making their Broadway performing on stage debuts? It must be thrilling for them.
