I kind of think they would want to use this moment to showcase somebody new for Usnavi.

Kad, I agree. We all know that Ramos can play an excellent Usnavi - he has done it successfully both on stage and on screen. Can't it be time for someone new? Ramos would be a great choice but, in my opinion, unexciting.
I think that Brian Quijada is a fine suggestion, but in the same vein, it wouldn't excite me. I would love to see a new name get put on the map with this production, and there is no shortage of young Latino actors who could pull it off effortlessly. They just need the chance.

I know it's the natural tendency to automatically bitch about an announcement like this, but considering how really ****ty this world is right now, can't we allow ourselves some frivolous joy? I personally already have Piragua floating in my head :-)

Love HEIGHTS but there's been a LOT of it lately. Every regional in the last 10 years with the same 3-4 people directing/choreographing them. Movie. Eh. Just seems uncreative at this moment.

Yes but that’s regional theatre for regional audiences. And every revival of Gypsy was presented with less time between than this In The Heights will be compared with the original production. We’re also getting a La Cage on a similar frequency to the last revival.

Prices are high for this one. $280 for more than half the center orchestra and grand tier and then $230 - $185 for the rest of the orchestra. Mezz is $185 - $115 (for the last five rows) and balcony starts at $85 - $35 (rows H-N not currently onsale)

I’m a little perplexed by the 3-week run. They’ve had trouble selling a lot of titles recently unless there are big names in the cast, which I don’t necessarily expect for this.
