I kind of think they would want to use this moment to showcase somebody new for Usnavi.

Kad, I agree. We all know that Ramos can play an excellent Usnavi - he has done it successfully both on stage and on screen. Can't it be time for someone new? Ramos would be a great choice but, in my opinion, unexciting.

I think that Brian Quijada is a fine suggestion, but in the same vein, it wouldn't excite me. I would love to see a new name get put on the map with this production, and there is no shortage of young Latino actors who could pull it off effortlessly. They just need the chance.

I know it's the natural tendency to automatically bitch about an announcement like this, but considering how really ****ty this world is right now, can't we allow ourselves some frivolous joy?  I personally already have Piragua floating in my head :-)

But why is that always said as a negative? We don’t stop watching older films or even listening to music that capture a specific place and time in the past. I always find it strange when I hear a show shouldn’t be done again because it’s “dated”."

Love HEIGHTS but there's been a LOT of it lately.  Every regional in the last 10 years with the same 3-4 people directing/choreographing them.  Movie.  Eh.  Just seems uncreative at this moment.

Yes but that’s regional theatre for regional audiences. And every revival of Gypsy was presented with less time between than this In The Heights will be compared with the original production. We’re also getting a La Cage on a similar frequency to the last revival.

Who’s to say but if he can, it would be very impressive
