EW has the full opening number! It looks beautifully shot. God, we need a cast recording.

Company is probably one of my all-time favorites. I saw the revival Friday and really enjoyed it. I thought the gender swap worked well. I'm probably in a distinct minority about Katrina Lenk's take on the role though. To me, she just came across as an angry drunk whom I cannot understand why anyone would want to be around. Otherwise, great cast. A lot has been said about Matt Doyle all of which is deserved, but I do hope Christopher Fitzgerald also receives a nomination. I would love to see Nikki Daniels in the lead. The audience gets just a glimpse of her individual voice which just isn't enough. I was shocked to hear Jamie say to Paul, "I just don't love you enough." Seemed overly harsh. Did Amy say that to Paul also?

The cinematography on this was absolute perfection. Not only do we need that cast recording, but a full pro-shot with THIS cast. I would love for the whole thing to be shot like this. It really captured the essence of the musical.

I just finished watching this. One word :AMAZING!!! All of them have such great voices and I could really hear them individually at the beginning of the number. A wonderful after-work treat. :)

Yes, I'm almost positive that line is also in the original version.

That also always strikes me as harsh, and makes me uncertain about the resolution of that scene. Even though Jamie comes to his senses, I have to imagine that his words hurt Paul, and part of me doesn't believe that they'd immediately move forward with the wedding.
Looks fantastic! I like how they modernize it with the cel phones etc. I saw a local production here fall 2019 where they did it set in the 70's & played up some of the dated items in the original book.
Do they have a souvenir program?

There were no souvenir programs when I was there last weekend
Was at the matinee today - full cast! What an incredibly special production. Katrina Lenk’s “Being Alive” was a completely unexpected interpretation and blew me away.
There was a small technical glitch which resulted in a 10ish minute hold. When the additional apartment set begins to come out for the Harry/Susan scene, the doors didn’t seem to connect and you could tell something was up if you were sitting close. The table in Bobbi’s apartment started to break and Katrina hopped right out and they held. Glad everyone was okay!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I am surprised the production is still having quite a few technical glitches. I understand the set is complex, but it seems to happen fairly often.
I hope/fantasise in the background they are trying to get it filmed as a first priority and will have some money for a cast recording should that not be feasible. I also wonder if the delays in announcement for a cast recording might have been slightly related to Omicron because their priority was trying to keep the show running during a very challenging time. However, now that things are settling if they feel more comfortable in the longevity of the show someone will spare some money.

I've been following her on IG for this very reason, watching to a late announcement so I can grab a last-minute ticket. I enjoyed Lenk, but when I go again I wouldn't mind seeing others' takes on various roles.

I check this site way too much to see if there is news of a cast recording
The last I heard was that the producers were actively looking into a cast recording. I’d have to agree that Omicron must’ve halted things quite a bit. We really need it!
I wonder if the possibility of the full show being filmed was settled by the upcoming documentary, which is supposed to feature performances from this production. I mean, I’ll take what I can get, but I have my doubts that they’d be doing a cast recording, a documentary, and a full show professionally shot. I hope to be proven wrong.
Does anyone know if the bar is still closed at the Jacobs?

I’m going to be seeing the show tomorrow. Does anyone know of any planned absences for tomorrow or understudies that are on today? I’m hoping to see Katrina, Patti, Matt, and Jennifer.

You will not be seeing Etai Benson - Jacob Dickey will be on for Paul tonight and tomorrow. Aside from that, I would assume you will be seeing Lenk, LuPone, Doyle, and Simard.

Thank you! A little disappointed that I won't be seeing Benson, but I'm sure that Dickey will do very well.

Dickey is wonderful. I got to be there for his first performance in the show (on for Theo) and he was fantastic. Even in the smallest of roles. Great voice, easy on the eyes, and a great confident presence. He'll be a great Paul.
Does anyone know if Lenk has any upcoming planned absences? I've seen her twice and would love to see one of her understudies.
