Is it unusual that Alan Silvestri isn’t credited at all, even though they use his work pretty frequently in the show?
In our millions, in our billions, we are most powerful when we stand together. TW4C unwaveringly joins the worldwide masses, for we know our liberation is inseparably bound.

Interesting. Is he in the back of the Playbill in the credits?
He might have requested not to be credited, or they negotiated it with him so as not to draw attention from the Broadway composers. Regardless, he's getting paid if his work is being used.

Ok. The audience still wasn't as loud as they were last night. Glad you got a "dig" in at me? And I'm never not going to say she got a raw deal with that show. So....ok...?
Yes... ok.. And again I said it with love and in good fun. It is just one of those things that is pretty unforgettable. I still think for the most part you are always pretty right on. And you don't owe anyone any explanation. And good for you for having a good time at Beanies Funny Girl.
I'm sure whoever is sick that they'll rehearse their understudy tomorrow. Hopefully it's nothing serious or an injury.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
“We no longer have tickets available for this performance. Please try selecting a different performance.”
That’s what BroadwayDirect says for tomorrow night’s show. Is that boilerplate for “sold out” as many people from tonight’s probably snagged tomorrow eve… or is it code for cancelled too?
Does anyone know who the covers are? The show’s website doesn’t say. Also, wasn’t there talk that they were looking to hire a standby for the leading ladies for the Broadway run?

I can't find an u/s list, either. Anyone who got a Playbill last night have the u/s list?

There was talk on this board because random people were campaigning on their social media to be the standby, not because the production made some sort of official announcement.
"The scariest thing about Death Becomes Her might be its budget. With initial capitalization costs of $31.5 million, the new musical is the most expensive show to arrive on Broadway in over five years."
Does the money show up.on stage like it does for Moulin Rouge? I waited for the first previews reports before buying tickets earlier this morning, and completing my schedule for my November trip. I went with side Orch row N, based on the comments about avoiding rear Orch. I sat in the mezx for Sweeney Todd for more, but am hoping this will give a closer view.
I was debating between this & Wonderful World, but reports on that were disconcerting. Also earlier in the week managed to get a refund for Tammy Faye (made a complaint about the cast change - my email could bring you to tears... of laughter) and swapped in Maybe Happy Ending for that night. I'm travelling the week of the NY Comedy Fest & so many big names will be performing. I could have booked Bill Maher at the Beacon instead of DBH. I could also beat myself in the head with a hammer.
I have a request in.to attend a taping of Kelly Clarkson on a day with some good guests scheduled. Hopefully that comes through.
Melissa, the Chicago tryout featured two fun dances for Hilty and the chorus boys. The women are mostly left to vogue behind Viola in her mansion. It’s not a dance heavy show, though the dancers do some body double stunts for the leads.

I saw Natalie CharleEllis go on for Jen Simard in the Chicago run, and she was just as magnificent as Jen."
these are the same covers that the show had for the Chicago run. Natalie went on for Jen plus Michelle Williams missed plenty of shows in Chicago. So it's hard to believe that one of the four leads were sick and the u/s wasn't ready. I smell something else happened and the producers are using the "sick" card as the cancellation reason.

call me crazy, but perhaps there might not be some deep conspiracy here. people have mentioned the show has changed, and the Chicago run was months ago. perhaps (capable as they are) the understudies aren’t prepped to go on with short notice, into a different show in a new theatre on day two. I commend the producers, as it is far too often the case that we celebrate throwing on standbys and understudies without notice (Lempicka most recently). canceling the show over abusing an understudy is something producers aren’t known to do, so I think we should be celebrating this instead of looking for sinister motivation.
There is absolutely no way an understudy would be prepared to go on for a show that only just started previews, even if they had been with the show in tryouts. The production in Chicago was months ago, they are in a different theatre space entirely, things have changed and are changing.

I understand the show just started previews. But isn't the understudies' job to go on stage with short and long-term notices? I'm curiously asking! We are sure Hilty and Simard get along really well, right? I love them both but they're very strong female Broadway stars!
