Yep if this is anything like his King Lear it’s a hard pass from me. I’ll wait for reviews, because I do love this cast. But a strong cast can only do so much.

When I read this article my emotions as I scrolled through it changed to:
Daniel Craig: Awesome
Ruth Negga: Wow! I can't wait for this!
Sam Gold: UGHHHHHHHH

It's Ruth Negga for me. I got my ticket.

I get all of the pushback against the property and the director but can we just pause for a moment and ponder the filling of the post-Rudin void that some were so worried about? A Rudin-less Broadway is not a rudderless Broadway, and we are better for his absence on so many levels.

After what Sam Gold did with King Lear, I'm not too sure about this.

To be honest, I really like the poster included in the article

Jordan, I desperately want a revival of The Goat….. With Idris Elba and Mary Louise Parker.

This can absolutely be the time for new plays when you have Daniel Craig and Ruth Negga headlining it.

Daniel Craig is the name here, and people would see him in anything. So it's unfortunate that it had to be THIS play. This will be Broadway's 5th Macbeth since 2000, and it is coming right on the heels of the Joel Coen film version with Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand.
I'm glad he wants to do theatre. I am a big supporter of movie stars doing theatre and bringing in new audiences. And I understand that new plays can be scary. But like Denzel, Jackman, Viola Davis, Pacino, Streep, etc. audiences would flock to *any* play he decided to do.
(Ruth Negga is a wonderful talent but is less of an "event" than Craig when it comes to ticket sales.)

There's this new-fangled thing on the interwebs called Google. Maybe try that?

So yet another version of Macbeth somehow illustrates that Broadway isn't rudderless? Sure, Jan.
