I have been thinking the same thing. I wrote in the Palace Theater construction thread, I wonder if Hercules might open at the Palace in Spring 2024 if the theater is ready. It would be a win-win PR wise that arguably the most historic theater on Broadway reopen's with a surefire hit, (it might not be an actual hit, but its guaranteed to do Buffo Business for the first 6 months of its run). We also know that a revival of Beauty and the Beast was supposed to re-open the Palace for a limited run before heading out on a National tour Pre-covid, so the Neaderlanders were already willing to offer the re-opening production to Disney.
I think Hercules aims for the Fall considering this cast. I don't think it needs a massive theater like the Amsterdam, Palace or even the St. James. B&TB revival could happen the following season, then AIDA for 2025-26 season.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
"There is an expectation that such things could happen," he explained in a recent episode of D23 Inside Disney. "It's a big party. There's a lot of puppetry in it for the Titans. The music is fantastic... so my fingers are crossed."
If they can get the plot to be a little meatier, for example Hades needs a much better song than the one presented during the Public run, then this would fit great in the Nederlander.
Papermill's Newsies wasn't billed as pre-Broadway. It was essentially being put up there for regional licensing with a possible tour down the road. The show was so success Papermill extended it twice. I believe it was Papermill's longest running show(7 weeks?). Disney noticed how popular it was and immediately looked to transfer it to Broadway. It also wasn't expected to run as long on Broadway, either.

I just realized they have new book writers. One of them is the guy who was the artistic director at the Young Vic in London. Hopefully it makes this piece even better than the Public production. This show is HIGHLY anticipated. I got my tickets for March 5. Love that they have Sunday evening performances.
Would really love to see some updated poster artwork for this production. There are so many ways they could make this pop better, and I feel the current artwork they are using is just so similar to the film's logo. I know it's a pre-Broadway production, but I feel like the Public Theater's artwork made the show feel fresh and exciting. I also know the Public's artwork is stylistically similar from show to show. It's just not leaving me feeling excited, personally. I'm sure the production will be spectacular and it's still a work in progress, would just love a bit more pop to the marketing of the show.
I doubt this extends, but it is selling extremely well. Weekends are basically sold-out with weeknights having limited availability. I know Newsies extended one week as did Papermill's WSS.

Disney has posted auditions for a limited run musical at the Hyperion in Disney California Adventure, and the roles they are seeking come across very much as Hercules.

They are still in rehearsals. Were you expecting a bootleg of the full show?"
This was just a few rehearsal clips. Could we get someone to sing something live? The muses singing something?
