If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
Green’s description makes it sound like we will be getting a fair amount of dialogue with underscoring. For people like me who have seen the show, that is promising. For those who haven’t, it may be less interesting.
I still wish some entity had done a professional video of the whole show, because the production itself was so impressively done. But as I mentioned earlier in the thread, I will take what I can get.
Sounds like we will almost certainly get the act two scene with Bishop/Marianne which is good.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

I wish we had, too. It's about as elegant and incisive a production we're going to see, until maybe it's revived in 40 years with a movie star and becomes a huge hit.

Be careful what you wish for! ;) Looks like it is now available to view from the TOFT archive, filmed in December.

The way the melody goes from the oboe to the bassoon in the preview video is just magical

No, the Grammy cutoff is typically in September.
It could have something to do with announcing future plans for the show, or not wanting it to get sucked up by allllll the other shows opening in April, or just making sure they have a good enough time buffer to mix the album.
Given the state of streaming monetization, they might also be hoping to gin up the sales of the CD release, and physical CDs take time. Nowadays a lot of shows put the digital release out before the physical media.
Maybe it’s obvious, but it is not clear to me if any of interludes will include the bishop’s conversation with Marianne. There isn’t really any music with that, as I recall, so perhaps not.

HUGE fan of that scene, and recall that it snowed briefly in that moment. So i assume that it what track 24: Interlude 3 (Snow) is referring to...... at least I hope that's what it's referring to!
The Exit Music downloads for digital pre-order on 4/26. The “leak” is because other countries in time zones ahead get it first.
