I'll wait a few years until the madness to get tickets slows down and maybe see it for myself.

I've paid face value for Hamilton. I'm completely at ease with the "totally ridiculous" ways I choose to spend my money.
I look forward to hearing your judgement of the show after you've seen the show.

Nowadays, I just don't have the patience to do something like that anymore. Of course, I probably also wouldn't have been able to stomach more than 12 total hours, but still. I can't say that I am angry about the line sitters. They're capitalizing on something that people are willing to pay for- unfortunately, just like the online resellers are. If people weren't willing to pay that much, none of these things would work out. With a show like this, the demand exists and the laws aren't in place to keep prices affordable. It's just a perfect storm...
My fingers are crossed that next summer I might be able to see this show for a regular ticket price (can't afford premium / not willing to sacrifice our family budget on account of tickets to a show). At least by then, with a lot of the original cast likely to be gone, maybe it won't be quite so insane. Who can say though...
Anyway.. good luck to all fans trying the line! I seriously do wish you all the best and I hope that you're able to get in and see the show! If you're willing to put in the hours, you deserve to see the show.

I think with the OBC gone and national tours going you'll have an easier time. Book of Mormon was crazy (not this crazy) and its calmed down quite a bit

That's what I'm hoping as well. I was able to see Book of Mormon on Broadway in August of 2012 and things were still a bit crazy then. We just bought our tickets a year in advance for under $100 each. I know under $100 isn't likely to happen, but face value should still be okay for next summer.

It may have the most expensive face value premium tickets on Broadway but it also has the cheapest rush lottery at $10. Personally I think the best deal is the $40 SRO from cancellation line (if any are available that day.)

That is true but then there are a ton of people that do the lottery that are in other states or are on vacation as you were. If they win they can't claim them anyway so having cheaper lottery tickets means nothing if people who have no intentions of using them win them.

And I'm happy for you. I don't give 2 craps if someone pays $10,000 for a ticket or sells their first born(well that's illegal so don't do that) to see the show.
That might be a long wait to hear my judgment on the show as I have no intentions of seeing it anytime soon unless I win the Powerball,Mega Millions or a huge jackpot at the casino.

I've been monitoring this thread for awhile and wanted to thank you all for your great knowledge and insight of the cancellation line. I'm going to give it a shot next month (insert cheesy "not throwing away my shot" line).
Send me a message and we'll work something out with exact dates and such!

I was in line 2 weeks ago and I still can't get rid of the scientology ear worm - maybe it should be turned into the cancellation line theme music.
So update! Nothing so far! About 20 people in line. Everyone's been really nice. But too hot in the shade but I'm a Floridian and I brought a fan.
Someone just got in line for Sat. Line sitters seem to want to start two separate lines later tonight so we will see if this happens. Obviously benefits them since they have six line sitters coming tomorrow. Hopefully I won't have to worry about that ?? lol
I've noticed there are tickets on ticketmaster resale frequently for the side orchestra sections labeled "hearing/vision impaired" .... I'm just curious if anyone knows how/if they enforce that ??

Aren't you and your line buddy #1 and #2 in line? I doubt you'll have to worry about it :) Good luck tonight! As far as the 2 separate lines thing, based on previous reports it seems like RRT has different policies on it each day. Personally I think there should only be 1 line period. What if the Sunday matinee folks arrive now too? Then there will be 3 different lines (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) today? It would be so confusing in front of the theater!

Technically I would imagine it's up to the RRT, not the line sitters, how many lines there are and where they go. However, once the theater closes and the staff goes home, the line become self-policing and my guess is whoever has the stronger will gets to decide the rules. That could get ugly, and I hope things stay calm.
does anyone know the last performance with the OBC? i know its sometime in July but im traveling from Florida solo ETA is July 8th dont know if that'll be too late...im also looking for a buddy to do the cancellation line, i'll be willing to pay for your ticket, PM me

I purchased a resale ticket in the green section (row B seat 2) and the other 3 resale next to me sold as well. There was no enforcement if we were actually vision or hearing impaired.
Awesome. Can you report back in with the cast? I'm assuming Lin is performing since he's taking Sunday's off now. Interested if others take it off. Girlfriend wants to see as much of the OBC as possible
