The rumors have been going around for a little while that Taye Diggs would be the next hedwig after Darren Criss left, well seems mister Diggs may have given it away inadvertently based on this photo he just posted to twitter, notice what script happens to be in the bottom of the image.
If it were legitimate, wouldn't he be reading from a 3-hole punched script organized in a binder rather than the souvenir script that anyone can purchase at the concession stand?
"Mostly, I loved the size of these people's emotions. Nobody has emotions this size anymore. Outsized emotions. Operatic emotions. Kushemski and Vanda are like Tristan and Isolde, they're Paolo and Francesca. Nobody's in total thrall like this anymore. Nobody's overcome by passion like this, or goes through this kind of rage." Thomas, Venus in Fur
These were taken at the tattoo parlor he went to get his ink done and its sitting on the arm rest, they may not have given him an official script yet and he's just doing some research by starting to read the script.
or he reads the broadway world message boards and has sucessfully trolled us lol
"He was at the Turner upfronts for his television show and, according to a few sources there, it was confirmed.
Innnnnneresting "
I would see that! In a heartbeat.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
I think it's a pretty great move all around. Good way for him to get back to the theater and he's definitely an audience draw. Plus, as others have said, about time for a Hedwig of color!
So, how bout we get Idina doing Yitzhak along side him? (Kidding obviously, but let that thought soak in for a moment)
there it is folks. Just waiting on an official confirmation from the show. I still wonder if Diggs will start right after Criss. One of the main hold-ups in the contract talks was that Diggs can't start until sometime in September, possibly leaving a 6-8 gap in the schedule. I wonder if something got worked out??
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
