Maybe the neckline - I think Lea's is Michael Kors. Didn't have a hot Ramin Karimloo/Nick Arnstein in a red velvet jacket though. There were a number of other outfits from this shoot on Lea's IG a month or so ago. Anxious to see what else they came up with. Great advertising for the show. I think Beanie did a spread in Vogue.
I just found some videos of the Gucci f/w 1996 runway show and in the section with white dresses someone made the comment a few months ago that most recent views must have been the design team at Michael Kors. Lol
Ramin's red velvet is also close to a suit from the same collection both for men & women. Gwyneth Paltrow famously wore it to the 1996 MTV Awards.

LOL. As one of my writing teachers said, you can't re-invent the wheel, you can only make the best wheel you can. I suppose the same applies to fashion. Everything old is new again. For me, my favorite era was the 20s.

I saw Lea last Sunday with her coming back from being sick. I could tell she might've not been feeling her best? There were some moments before a note where her breathes would be a little long. Overall, she was pretty great. I wasn't as crazy about her act one? I really felt like she brought the emotional heights for act two though. The last scene she just NAILS.
FYI, there are 4 Entertainment Community Fund Producer's Picks scheduled on 1/18, 2/1, 2/8, and 2/15, with ticket prices significantly lower than what's currently being charged on SeatGeek and at the B.O. They're selling some pretty premium seats in the front orchestra and front mezzanine for $229 and $199, respectively.
For whatever it's worth... 2 hours before curtain on Wed night, I snagged an Orch Row D seat all the way to the side for $70 ($95 with fees) on StubHub. Completely missed one of the staircases but other than that, it was thrilling to be that close. So keep your eyes peeled, it's possible to see this without paying $500!
I thought with all the glowing re-reviews, her performance was going to change my life... it didn't. She was a totally solid Fanny. She sounded spectacular and I agree with posters who have said her final moments are breathtaking, but she simply didn't blow my mind.
Although it's been said many times, many ways... cut that damn curtain call bit!
I can imagine the producers rejoicing over this and patting their own backs for pushing through with Lea. It's basically a stamp of approval from Babs, don't you think? Plus the daughter of Jule Styne praising and supporting Lea? That's one helluva validation. I wonder if ticket sales will increase even more
Menzel mentions one of the reasons she did not go forward with 'Funny Girl' was because "and then COVID happened."
However, right through 2020 - 21 Rosie O'Donnell said many times in interviews that plans were still going on for the "Funny Girl" revival even during the COVID shut-down, and it was going to be onstage as soon as the restrictions were lifted at the end of '21 and beginning of '22 (this is when she said she was cast to play Mother Bryce). I can see Menzel saying she was too old for the part (she was) but not sure why she's also dragging COVID into this when things were going along as scheduled, despite the pandemic.
I was happy to hear that Barbra wrote Ramin a letter as well - they did a concert in Hyde Park back in 2019 (at her request). 3 weeks later he was called to do the role of Nicky. That fell through because of covid, but he was picked up again when this new production was put in motion.
The story about Lea riffling through his stuff to check the handwriting was a hoot.
Not about Lea or FG, but FG adjacent, since a number of the FG cast are up for BWW Awards for the New Jersey Awards. Ramin, the cast (includes about 6 FG actors), the show, the director (Jamieson James as director, who is Ramin's U/S in FG) are all up for an award for The Last Match. The show is winning right now, but Ramin is only #3.
If you feel the urge - please vote for him and the show. Thanks.
I feel like Beanie mentioned in one of her interviews that she did. I have a very vague memory of it. When all of the casting and re-casting drama was going down I mainligned a crap ton of interviews and articles. Because I love mess!!! lol
