Ugh. So where do you think the money is coming from to pay the losses??? They bank money during the good weeks - but this seems excessive."
Where do you think that money is coming from? Because it seems like you think the producers are taking profit owed to the investors and using it to the float the show."
Yes. That's how it works when a show is running at a deficit. Now we can stop if you want.

Good for Bob! Not sure this solves the million a month they are losing presently. Investors are being very patient about watching the losses pile up and their profits disappear."
He won't move the needle at all. This show prints money on tour so closing up in January after 6.5 years in New Yorkis completely respectable."
When are people going to understand just how loyal and willing to spend money Drag Race fans are? Look at what Jinkx did for Little Shop and Chicago, and Bob is, arguably, better known by the general public after appearing on We're Here and The Traitors and writing a NYT Bestseller than Jinkx was. This will absolutely help sales, especially in the terrible winter months."
THIS.
I'm a gay with a comfortable salary and there are few drag race alumni who could get me in a theatre. Jinx is one of them, and Bob another. Bianca would be the third...and then that's about it.
Bob is going to generate a respectable income for the production.
Totally random, but I was by some major MR fans on the CHESS line yesterday and it came up apparently that Taye Diggs has unofficially left the show and anyone expecting to catch him before his official last day on Sunday should expect an understudy Duke. At this point, he’s been out for roughly 2 consecutive weeks.
They even brought back Dylan Paul to be a Christian/Duke cover since Aaron C. Finley left on 9/21, Christian Douglas isn’t cleared for two show days yet post-concussion, and Christian Probst (the new C/D cover) doesn’t even have costumes yet, let along sufficient rehearsal.
They allegedly tried to see if they could bring David Harris back early, but he’s on vacation before he returns next week.

This is my prediction as well. Bob has fans. Bob put it out there that they'd like to be a NYT Best Selling author, and it happened fairly quickly. I have not read the book personally, but watching it happen was pretty fun to see Bob's fans support.
Not necessarily rooting for this show, it's not my favorite, but I do hope it gets them back up in the million dollar club.

Taye Diggs was such a strange attempt at stunt casting here. He hasn't been on Broadway in a decade -- and his last appearance was generally thought to be a disaster -- and his career has been fairly cool for a while now. He's been known to be unreliable on stage in the past too, so it's not a huge surprise if he's unofficially left early. Whom did the production expect would be rushing to get tickets based on his presence?
I have no doubt Bob will be great and will bring in an audience. But damn, he deserves better than this show.
That said, I hope this is a tryout to see if he sells tickets as a name on Broadway in an attempt to put him into Oh, Mary! eventually. Because that’s what I actually want to see.

You've sure got a lot of "apparentlys" and "roughlys" and "allegedlys" and "unofficiallys" in that story. Sounds TOTALLY reliable! It's certainly possible it's true -- but is there a reason you feel the need to post whatever you happen to overhear from some randos on the street?
Listen…If I did not feel there was at least some nugget of truth in there (and having passed by the theatre many days this week to see an understudy posted for The Duke), I wouldn’t have bothered to write it out. I also was engaged in the conversation as well.
That information seemed far too involved and detailed to be completely false. In the end, it is still rumor, yes. But, there were also references to conversations some of them had with cast on Instagram and in person. Take it or leave it - but otherwise, hop off.

I can answer this for him: it’s a theatre board. We talk, we gossip, we speculate. Bye.
what's the situation with Wayne Brady in the show? Him & Diggs have been out a lot the last few weeks.

"I feel bad for Bob. This show ran at a loss for 24/25 and it is losing way more this season - so while Bob is great this feels like a losing effort. Hope it showcases him into other shows.

Jesus Christ, you’re really obsessed with this show’s grosses, huh?

Yes. I am fascinated by the business models that are collapsing and looking at it from the investor side. Seems like we are all focused on unions, theater owners and producers but if we lose the investors we are in trouble. Also fascinated by Cabaret and all the short run star driven vehicles that barely return while charging insane ticket prices. Are we killing the business from inside.

Brady, I believe, is concurrently filming LET’S MAKE A DEAL in Los Angeles on his days off. Jonathan Mangum (his co-host) was posting about taping on Monday.

Safe to assume that he will likely be out on either Sundays or Tuesdays going forward until his run ends.

No. The new season began airing on Monday this week. LMAD tapes (usually) May-August by taping 11 shows a week, Wednesday through Saturday.

Interesting. I thought it was different considering he was on tour/Broadway with The Wiz from January of last year until mid June. There has to be some modifications somewhere.
SIDEBAR: Worth noting that the Understudies.org website just listed Jack Cahill-Lemme on as Duke tonight and tomorrow (9/25 and 9/26).
Meg Donnelly (from Disney Channel’s “Zombies” franchise) will play Satine from November 11 - March 1.
Anyone and Everyone but Weird Al
David Harris is back as The Duke tonight on Broadway, so all the lines and notes will be there.

Congrats to Jack Cahill-Lemme on making his Broadway debut! I saw him play Christian on the national tour of ''Moulin Rouge!,'' and he was marvelous. Below, he sang ''Your Song'' with Hailee Kaleem Wright at Broadway at Bryant Park.

I know Brady tends to get a pass on his attendance for some reason, but he's scheduled to be out until next Sunday again. I know he has a busy schedule, but he tends to always have a ton of pre scheduled absences anytime he books a Broadway show.
