I just want to know who their standbys will be. I'd be that Nick ends up missing a bunch of shows after it opens.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
I like the suggestion that their standbys do one performance a week(Tuesday evening?). This way people don't have to work over $450. What is the performance schedule looking like?

There won't be standbys for a 90 minute musical. However, I wish they had that for The Music Man so more people could have seen that show. Max Clayton was incredible but only went on when Hugh had Covid a few times.
I'm not sure what people are more mad at: These prices, the fact that he's not Jewish, or his completely average singing voice.
If this is running for several months, they will definitely have standbys. It's required by equity.

um, wouldn't that be the sort of thing they would have needed to disclose before they took my money??

Yes which is why it is not happening. They will have people standing by in case of illness or injury for 14 weeks, but since they didn't announce any vacations or an alternate (like Mandy Gonzalez for Sunset Boulevard), this is a non event.

keyboard/piano/conductor
2 violins
viola/violin
2 celli
bass
guitar
percussion/celeste
(the percussion, viola, and second violin are new)"
Not surprising, as the original orchestration was written for a much smaller, intimate space (JRB said he originally intended the show to be done without microphones). The original arrangements feel as definitive as the score, but I liked the ways he expanded the sound for the film adaptation, so I'm not too skeptical.
It could also be enough of a change where the nominating committee might throw him a bone for Best Orchestrations as a kind of “legacy” prize for the show itself

You probably know this, but as the living author of a revival that has never been on Broadway before, he'd also be part of any potential Best Revival nomination (as with Jonathan Spector and Eureka Day, as announced earlier today).

I know, but short of something amazing, it’s in a fight with Penzance for the 4th slot after GYPSY, SUNSET, and FLOYD COLLINS

Yeah, I think a lot will depend on reception of Pirates, which I think could either be a disaster or absolutely brilliant. I'm excited either way. But this is a big deal for Whitney White in particular-she has to deliver to keep her the momentum she's gained since JaJa. I could see her snagging a director nod if she does exciting work here.

Same with Parade when it was at City Center (although Murray stepped up to conduct the Broadway transfer)
