I saw it three times in Chicago and loved it. Just so much fun!

Hi Matt: Good detective work. Yes, i saw the show twice, I have a friend that invested $150,000 in this show and wanted my opinion. Have you ever seen a show twice? Regardless, my opinion is that he would have been better off investing in egg futures. As you know, some people like having their names in the credits no matter what happens. As Kander and Ebb said: " Money makes the world (Broadway) go round".

So…you are essentially rooting for your friend to fail?
The plot thickens…

I find the number "where I want to be" so addictive, and Jerry Herman rarely fails - the show looks so magically fun! I would love to see it. I wonder if it will become a little bit of a cult show if it closes quickly.

Jerry Mitchell* hehe. Was thinking at the same time about "Put On Your Sunday Clothes" from all the Color and light of those costumes.

All those fabulous Jerrys -- Herman, Mitchell, even Robbins! ;-)

I think collectively the show is getting a lot of side eye, as it should. But I loved it in Chicago and hopefully they've only improved upon it.

If you read the post with some degree of intelligence, He asked for my honest opinion having both invested and produced theater. This is not about hoping Boop! Will fail, that is a certainty, it’s about keep a friend from being too hopeful.

If you’re merely providing this invaluable service to your friend, why the need to post it (twice) on Broadwayworld? Just tell them directly!

Yes, I'm sure your "friend" asked you to try and tank their investment in a public site as well.
As I've said before (on your first thread sandbagging the show) most shows fail - only 20% break even and even fewer make a decent payout. But you are actually attempting to thwart people from seeing this show, and rooting for its demise... Some friend.
At least you are going with the odds? Will it make you feel good if the shows closes without recouping? You're a gem.

I think the leading lady's performance will cause some great buzz for the show and there are quite a few ear worms song wise. Hopefully they've cleaned up the book and focused the show a bit. I don't think she'll take the Tony given Audra and Nicole, but I think she will be the breakout "new" talent of the season.

Darling
This show does not need my help to succeed or fail, the thousands of empty seats speak to the little demand for this candy floss.
I care about the artists not those with their head in the clouds.

I'm convinced this is a jilted ex-lover of Jerry's. That's what makes the most sense with this troll to me...

Also of note, this troll joined BWW on 12/16/24 - right in the middle of BOOP!'s run in Chicago.

Also have they ever posted about anything else here? Just odd to go on and on and on incessantly.

Wow, you are right. I am an ex lover of Jerry. He promised to name a show after me and make me a star outside of the bedroom. Oh, Jerry, please come back poopsie, daddy misses you. Jerry, you put the Boop in our love life.

You care about the artists - I assume you mean the actors and creators of this show - which is why you keep trying to convince everyone it's terrible and to stay away? Between that and hoping your friend loses money - I pity everyone in your life who thinks you're their friend.

There is plenty of well-supported, healthy skepticism on this board about Boop's chances for success - I definitely am skeptical!- but this is just really crossing over into something absurd and malicious.

This is the EPITOME of an online troll- dripping with rage, unable to articulate any remotely convincing thought, obvious agenda to peddle.
Dont feed the troll!
