So did another ticket analysis and the amount of available inventory is staggering. Yes, yes...word of mouth and advertising but there is no buzz here. Pack that up with a dated concept and a moth balled hero character, I see no recoup for investors but on a high note, a poster at Joe Allen!
Broseph, you didn't get the part. Time to let it go.

I think a lot of people misinterpret people being honest about a shows chances as "vultures hoping for a show to fail" when that isn't the intention, but in your case it is obvious that you are gleeful about this show failing. It's obnoxious and a little strange.

what? There is no glee in failure when it comes to artists and crew. That is so extreme. What is the issue is greedy landlords who fast track shaky product over those with quality work that deserve a venue. This counterfeit Disney show has no place in primetime. This my POV and be please do not slam freedom of speech

I saw the show in Chicago too. Book/music/choreography/performances were all fantastic and I think it's more likely boop gets tony award buzz than fails. Did OP get dropped from the Chicago cast?

Have you seen the show?

To paraphrase a meme: if I had a nickel for every thread you've started saying Betty Boop is a flop, I'd have two nickels- which isn't a lot but it's weird it's happened twice.

I'm just spit balling, but I'm sure a landlord would much prefer having a show that is going to pay its rent long term and not have dark months while they're finding other tenants. I agree that Boop probably isn't long for this world, but what sense does it make to put that on "greedy landlords" like... ESPECIALLY on productions that theyre investing in. Usually when you point to greed, there's a pay off in the end. Most Broadway shows end as a flop...

A ticket analysis?!?! Seriously?!?!?
Your obsession with the fate of this show is creepy AF.

Darling, it sounds like YOU need analysis.

It hasn’t even played its first Broadway performance yet. Calm down.

We have freedom of speech, too. And we're using it to point at you and laugh.

They should be doing way more of an "INTRODUCING JASMINE AMY ROGERS" campaign. She really is something. As we learned from Julie Benko, the people love to root for the star is born story.

I agree, and maybe they will. First previews are still a few weeks away so you'd imagine marketing ramps up during that month of previews.
This show has legs. It was so much fun in Chicago . So happy producers are taking a gamble and bringing it to broadway. BROADWAY NEEDS FUN! The OP’s intent is to be negative.

I did see the show twice in Chicago, wanting to love it. Such scorn in this board for an honest assessment. It is not original, the music and lyrics are childish and the choreography is cut and paste. Talented cast? Very. But really there is nothing to cheer. I am sorry people think this is a condemnation or take down. But why should hard working people waste their cash on a show when the season has way better options. Prices are so high and this show is not worthy nor is it a nourishment of the art form.
Nobody cares that you don't like it- lots of different opinions fly around this board, it's how it works. We just think it's weird that you joined the board two months ago and nearly every single post you've made since has been about this topic. Do you have no other opinions?

You saw a show that you hated twice. Uh-huh.

Because hard-working people have the right to spend their cash as they so choose. None of us are in a position to tell other people how to spend their money. If you don't care for the show, don't go see it again. There have been many shows on Broadway that people on this board or by WOM have deemed inferior, yet hard-working people paid good money to see and enjoyed them. That's fine if you don't like a show, but to repeat it with such conviction certainly makes your intentions highly suspicious (ax to grind?) and detracts from any credibility you may have thought you had.
I saw it three times in Chicago and loved it. Just so much fun!
