Hopefully through June with JCM filling in for a few months.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
Can anyone who has seen the show from the mezzanine comment on H109 which appears to have the equivalent of two seats worth of empty space next to it? Is that the case? In that row there are three seats, then empty space, then four seats if the Telecharge diagram is correct. Just trying to see if H109 functions essentially as an aisle seat.

I met her years ago a handful of times as a friend of my ex’s, and always thought she was a) really nice and b) a riot. I’ve been admiring her comedy career as a fan since then and I’m thrilled she’s getting this moment in the spotlight. A friend of mine works on the show backstage and said the energy around the theater is buzzing for her, so I’m excited to see that kind of camaraderie onstage.
I Can’t imagine the show without Cole! He embodies the character so well, and I am interested to hear how the show plays with Hannah. I can’t wait to hear about her in the role.
My neighbor is going tonight and I will ask him to post his review on here.
I saw Hannah in a student production of Speech and Debate at NYU in like...2010 or something, and she was so so so effing funny. She's still one of the funniest women I've ever seen. I can't imagine a world where she does not absolutely NAIL this. I'm so happy for her.
I enjoyed Hannah's performance this evening! So happy for her! I think a good number of people in the audience were OH MARY fans and friends/family of Hannah. She performed Mary with an accent (Irish I think?) and her cabaret performance was fabulous!!! The baton!!!! ;) I thought she was a better singer than Cole.
I thought the show was sensational last night and in excellent hands without Cole Escola. Hannah Solow was really f*cking great as Mary, and just shows what a solidly written, 80-minute nonsensefest the play is. There were quite a few people around me who were audibly a little disappointed not to be seeing Cole before the show started, but I heard some of those same people saying “She was great! Have we ever seen her in anything?” after curtain call. Really a fantastic star turn. And she’s got PIPES.
Separately, I didn’t hear any kind of Irish accent (outside of the bizarre “Shakespearean” accents Mary puts on as a joke). Sounded like a standard stage dialect more akin to old movies like the ones Cole spoofs in things like Our Home Out West.
I so hope this extends past Cole’s run. Even without their specific eccentricities as a performer, the role is a marvelous showcase for a comedic actor.
Did a 3 show day today with this sandwiched between Great Gatsby & Sunset Blvd. Had plenty of time between shows to walk to each theatre & had time to use restrooms. Spent a couple hours at the Museum of Natural History in the morning & ate at their Cafeteria. Just had dinner at some Italian place I stumbled across.
I think I read way too much about Oh Mary for the last year & spoiled most of the jokes for myself. Still had a good time. Glad I got the opportunity to see it with the original cast, and also managed to get a reasonably priced ticket.
Will Cole Escola continue to do l8ve theatre after this? Or will Hollywood beckon?

Any word on whether Cole is staying on?"
I believe so, but not 100% sure

It was really funny to revisit this after Tammy Faye, which is such an awkward show that seems to have no idea what it wants to be. Oh, Mary!, on the other hand, has a strong sense of purpose and vision, which allows them to layer ideas with precision that would fall apart under a less sure hand. It would be one thing if it was just a stupid comedy about an alcoholic Mrs Lincoln, but the framing of it as a warped reflection of a dowdy regional production of a terrible, old-fashioned history play means there are multiple angles of humor working at all times. The whole thing is totally unhinged, but it's always in control, which is thrilling as an audience member.
I also have a new appreciation for just how tight the script is. Escola said in an interview that the cast approached the text with the same rigor as if it were a classic, like Ibsen or something, and that shows beautifully on a second visit. Every performance is this rich bounty of choices, and even with the lack of surprise I was still crying laughing just because every moment is a fully committed journey. Bianca Leigh's ridiculous overenunciation of "hummingbird" is a great example. She makes a whole meal out of those three syllables in a way that's not just a funny pronunciation but also an indication of her character's upbringing and a parody of how amateur actors perform outdated text. That line hit me like a comedy hammer both times.

the rumors swirling a month ago was that Cole needed to take an extended time off for another project in the Winter months. So the likelihood of another extension was always based on a temporary replacement to take over and then Cole would return to close the show.

I got word yesterday that an extension into June and the actress taking over the role of Mary for about two months are both being announced at some point next weekend. Unclear if Cole is coming back immediately after those two months but they are definitely coming back at some point.
As far as I can see the upcoming replacement is not someone who has been floated in this thread.

Saw a rumor online it's Melissa McCarthy... to be 100% clear this is not a reputable source, but daydreaming of how good she'd be."
Please, no!
