Jinkx was asked on Vulture’s Good One podcast (posted earlier today) who should play Mary next, and the names she listed were:

• Kate McKinnon
• Melissa McCarthy
• Ilana Glazer
• Ziwe

…honestly? Yes please to all of the above. They also suggested BD Wong as Abe.

I knew Jinkx had it in her (loved her in LITTLE SHOP and PIRATES!), but I didn’t know she was going to bring it like that. 

I wish I had bought tickets to go a second time before prices went through the roof. She’s my favorite Mary thus far, even including Cole. Brava, Jinkx! 

This entire new cast is fantastic, in fact. This is easily the best shape the show’s been in since the original cast. If they can manage to continually make such inspired casting choices, I wouldn’t be mad if this ran forever.

Casting news should be out later today. The next Mary Todd is not a former SNL cast member as recently speculated.

The casting director and producers needs a special Tony Award because the casting so far has been on point

This show is casting people who have their own VERY distinct line deliveries and senses of humor and it’s so smart. It guarantees a freshness about each new cast and guarantees that (at least so far) you know you’re getting something you haven’t seen yet. Just brilliant.

Tickets are also now on sale through July 5. Gotta think this is now an open-ended run at this point. 

Hannah Solow will play Mary from September 30 to October 12.

They’re doing the Operation Mincemeat route of “EXTENDED X TIMES!!!”. They are not going to close when they continue to print money and cause massive hysteria when a new Mary drops.

Also, THE PEOPLE DEMAND A HANNAH-BILL!!!

Whelp, I guess I'm seeing this for a second time! Wow! Can't believe I'm going to get to see Jane LIVE on Broadway...wow wow. This made my day 😭😁
