Well, since the show is extended through July, Bryant may still happen.
That’s how to steel Chess’s thunder
Wow! Very excited about this. Have tickets for Saturday, November 22nd at 5pm. It will be a 3 show day with "Oh, Mary!" at 5pm. Love Jane K! This will be my 3rd time seeing the show.
As I scrolled through social media this morning, I came across the news and gasped “oh my god”. My partner thought something bad happened.

Ah going to miss her by a couple weeks in December. Great casting though
Literally jumped up from my desk in excitement and promptly bought a $99 limited view seat on the right (the less obstructed side) before they were gone for my date. The casting for this just stays on point.
Can anyone comment on the $99 partial view tickets in the front orchestra? I’d love to see this again with Jane but not pay a million bucks.

They're great.

A great deal, stick the orchestra right side.
Very excited to see Jane. Just picked up two tickets for early December.
Jinkx is out of the show next Tuesday and Wednesday for a Portland concert. Hannah will be on both days.

Next week is their "understudy week". Hannah on those two shows, Martin Landry will be on for Kumail from Sept. 11-18. Julian Manjerico will be on for Urie Sept. 13 & 14. Curious to see if Jackie Sanders or Sean Peter Forte go on during those two weeks.
Maybe it's just because I'm a huge 30 Rock fan, but I kind of expected tickets to fly out the door as soon as Jane was announced. Just picked up seats for mid-November and they have lots of options still available at all price points for most days.

Maybe the 30 Rock fans are waiting for THE RURAL JUROR MUSICAL?
She's a draw, and word of mouth will be good, but I expect tickets to be available for a bit. Having additional names as the teacher or Mary's husband might change that.
I feel like maybe with the exception of Jinkx, almost every new casting had to build word of mouth sales, including Cole's encore engagement.
Speaking of Jinkx, saw the show Tuesday night and she was incredible, and I was just amazed how in such a short time, she has so comfortably taken on the leading role on Broadway and had the audience eating out of her hands. And how she could maintain that level of vocal energy was astounding!
Maybe because I was sitting first row, her costumes never fully zipped all the way to the top, and her finale number zipper was totally undone in the back by her final moments. (I honestly couldn't tell if her futzing with the costume for the last moment was spontaneous.)
The rest of the cast was great, but as a Michael Urie fan, seeing him as Mary's Teacher was just icing on the cake. I would love for him to play Mary at some point!

I’m sure tickets will start selling once she begins performances and does the press circuit, etc. I have a feeling everyone grabbing tickets now is going to be happy they did, down the road.
Jinkx tickets were pretty easy to get (and reasonably priced) until she began performances and now they’re upwards of $200, if you can even find availability.

Apologies if this has been asked a billion times. I'm considering making the trip. The night I want to see it, there are partial view tickets available for Orchestra Left, Balcony Front Row, or Orchestra Right.
From what I've seen the last few posts, folks have said Orchestra Right are a good deal for the price, any other input before I inevitably bite the bullet (pun intended)

Go for the partial view Orchestra seats on house right.
I bought a partial view ticket house left for Cole's final show and it was pretty fantastic. I don't feel like I missed much of anything, but then I also saw it off-Broadway. I'd go for it.
I’ve also sat in the partial view seats house left several times - the ones midway back in the orchestra. I’ve definitely seen everything from those seats, there’s maybe one line of Mary’s delivered from the window seat that may not have the same impact (“F***”) , but it’s worth the savings.

I'm so curious how the Ford's Theatre/Finale quick change works. The evening I saw Jinkx, Kumail and Martin Landy definitely seemed to milk/slow down the beginning of that scene before Mary makes her entrance for the standoff with Lincoln/ entering the boxed seats.
I wonder if Mary is already wearing any of the Madcap Medley costume any earlier in the show or if she goes offstage after the drunken storm scene with John, throws off the black dress, steps into the silver outfit w/ Roxie Hart character heels and then puts on the blue cloak dress. All that plus taking a swig of water before the next entrance!
Hannah Solow have I got a BTS video for you to shoot next week!
I had the opportunity to see Jinkx as Mary this week after having seen Cole and the original cast in the role both on and off Broadway. As a fan of Jinkx, I was very excited to see her in the role after reading and hearing raves about her performance. I was also excited to see a new take on Mary as I didn't get to see Tituss, Betty or Hannah in the role.
I'll preface by saying that I am a huge fan of Oh, Mary! It's such a tightly written show and I've rarely laughed so hard and so often in a theatre. I've also been touched each and every time I've seen the show by Mary's 'great day' monologue. I loved Sam Pinkleton's direction, the quick pace, how fast the cast flies from one joke to the next, and how in its original incarnation, it rarely felt clownish or cartoonish.
Unfortunately, I feel like some of that direction has slipped away with the new cast. The pacing felt much slower. Jinkx hammed it up from the moment she stepped onto the stage. So many lines were shouted or said with a huge wink to the audience. Some of the funnier, bigger moments didn't land because everything felt over-the-top and hammy from the start.
Jinkx is a great performer and there were moments of brilliance in her performance as Mary. I loved her madcap cabaret, and the face she pulls in her drunken moment of realization right before the Ford's Theatre scene was so perfect I didn't know whether to gasp or laugh. She was also utterly frightening in a few moments, and her eyes welling up during the great day monologue broke my heart. I think with some adjusted pacing and a lighter touch in a few scenes, her entire performance could match the brilliance of some of these moments.
I thought the rest of the parts were well cast, particularly Jenn Harris, and I'm glad the show has legs. The audience ate it up and everyone around me seemed impressed after curtain call. I hope to see Jinkx again before she leaves (or if she returns), to see how her Mary evolves, and I'm excited for the continued great casting. Whoever said the casting team deserves a Tony, I agree!

She can't be wearing any of the madcap medley costume earlier in the show, she never has time to put it on. That whole sequence exists (especially the parts where the spotlights shine onto the boxes) to give her time for the quick change. It's actually a fairly simple change as far as quick changes go - the black dress goes off (presumedly it is one or two pieces rigged with a zipper), the heart boxers go off, keeps the tights on, she changes shoes, and the white Medley outfit is one piece that, I would imagine, zips up in the back, and then the blue dress goes over it and snaps up in the front. it's quick, but broadway dressers are nothing if not magicians.
I would also love to see a video of this change, but the Medley sequence has never been used in any of the show's marketing (and it's very deliberate that mary puts the blue dress back on for curtain call), so clearly they want to hold back this reveal as a spoiler.
