So........I was gonna go see Fire and Air but almost all the reviews say it's slow and kinda boring and I have horrible ADD, so I scooped up a ticket to go see Bernadette instead and I can't wait. I got right orchestra row G. I'm really excited. There weren't that many seats available for the day I'm going.

Seems pretty consistent for this show. Their vibe is, if you want to see this show, get to the Shubert.

I was wondering this too! Lol. It looked like he got into NYC on Monday from his Instagram posts. Then again, the role really isn’t huge.

Neither of those photos are showing up for me. Do you know where I can find them?

They released one (1) picture for publicity. This does not bode well. They could play hard-to-get with Bette. But now that she's gone they are going to have to retool a harder sell. Or close after the summer - maybe they don't care.
Since when did releasing multiple photos of a show (published by sites the mainstream public doesn’t read) keep a show running? If people are craving photos, they’re going to want to see the star in the iconic red dress. I’m sure they’ll need to step up the marketing campaign, maybe a performance or two on the morning chat shows, but releasing multiple production photos isn’t going to sell a show.
One thing I’ve noticed is the TKTS lines are abysmally short this time of year. There might be less potential for last-minute sales than I would have anticipated. However, no need to worry in the immediate-term. Tonight’s performance is fully sold out! Very exciting!
Tonight’s the night. Congratulations all involved. I have a feeling this will be a night to remember. While Bernadette has taken all the limelight, we should also not underestimate what Victor Garner might bring to the show. What a nice pairing of two Sondheim vets.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
I believe they either are selling or about to sell standing room tickets for tonight’s performance at the box office.

I know I'm an isolated case, but Bernadette Peters is a much more exciting name to me than Bette Midler.
That is not a knock on Bette-- it's just that as 20-something musical theatre fan, Bette Midler is really just Winifred Sanderson to me. (And I should and want to experience more Bette-- any suggestions where to start besides the Dolly CD which I own?) OTOH, Bernadette and her voice were a fixture of my childhood in Cinderella, Annie, and Anastasia. And when I was a teenager watching Glee and Smash, I was watching her performances in Into the Woods and Sunday in the Park With George through Netflix, when it was just a mail delivery service. And jeez, when NPR uploaded the cast recording of her Follies over Thanksgiving break 2011, I listened to her rendition of "Losing My Mind" over and over again as I cried about the boy I loved who wouldn't love me back...
Bernadette Peters hasn't made an appearance on Broadway since I was that blubbering sophomore, but now this true Broadway Baby is back where she belongs.

Or Victor Garber (lol) who I think will be perfect. Have a great time everyone!!!!
Yes sorry :p. Obviously the n and b are next to each other on the keyboard so it’s easy to make a typo.
Victor Garner should be fine next to Bermadette Petews.

Have you seen Bette's tv movie version of Gypsy? Definitely start there. And/or The Divine Miss M album

I agree! They need a real commercial with promo footage from the show and perform a number somewhere. They’re trying to make Bernadette an event, when that’s not happening.

That’s the best they could come up with? That looks like something a middle schooler in a beginning graphic arts class would make.
