Posted: 11/1/10 at 10:09pmIt's so sad that she never found that match she needed, but it's inspiring how the community mobilized for her and raised awareness about the bone marrow registry. I registered because of her and I know lots of others did, too. I hope others will be matched to donors who registered because of her.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

Absolutely gutted by this news. My heart is with her loved ones. Gone too soon.
I hope she and her family can take some solace knowing that her story helped open up the minds and hearts of so many others, and will likely save other lives.
