Sheesh....glad I'm not seeing this until January....maybe they'll be someone in I DO like. (I'd be fine with Brightman...but Pete Davidson? MacFarlane? No thanks.)
I like the show, but really bought tickets to see with my (adult) son...he'll love it, I'm sure. If it were just me, I'd likely be skipping it.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

This got deleted minutes ago and was very legit claim. I have the message and links and photos and can share them... but won't do it if the BWW mods are going to delete my comments for "rumors" tbh

If they didn’t set the bar so high with friggin Hugh Jackman, he would’ve been a premium Harold Hill.
Hey, everyone needs an entry point to the stage and, considering how busy he is, this might be a good role for him to dip his toes in the water for a future bigger project

For sure just given his talents I’m surprised he hasn’t written something original. The music in his shows is usually great. But he’s a good get for this if not my first choice.

Maybe Brightman takes a short break after SHARK closes and we get Killam until the end of the year. One can hope.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
I replied to Spamalot's most recent "teaser" on Twitter saying that Killam leaked the news, and they straight up deleted the entire tweet. I would guess an announcement is imminent since the word is already out
Is Killam going to a be draw for non-theatre people?
I admit to being fairly out of touch with non-theatre related entertainment. Even after googling I have no idea who this is so I'm curious if the hyping up by Spamalot social media team was warranted? I had at least heard of Seth Macfarlane.

Honestly? I would say no. It feels a bit weird that they were hyping up this announcement so much, which led me to believe it was going to be a large stunt cast to sell tickets. Nobody would have batted an eye if he had been announced with the rest of the cast, because he's been on Broadway before. I'm sure he'll be great, just a strange all around situation

I don't really think he'll mean anything to the masses. But it's better than nothing."
I mean, the original Broadway cast was headlined by Tim Curry, David Hyde Pierce, and Hank Azaria, all EXTREMELY well known in different areas of comedy. That was a stacked deck right there.

I knew it couldn’t be Seth…prices are way too low for him and he would want to be King Arthur…and no offense they would have put other names around him…great casting in Taran tho and will be sure to see it when he’s in it!

Cobie Smulders husband? I mean he was slightly funny on SNL but he's not a name anywhere really. I hope it's Seth and he's finally doing something he's been wanting to do for many years. He has the talent, the name, and will absolutely bring the funny.

Yes, but it's different when you have just one star in a supporting role amongst an entire cast of non-stars. It can throw off the calibration. What I'm saying is Killam will -- hopefully -- fit in with the ensemble well, since he's barely a star.
I like Killam, but it’s been 7 years since he’s been on SNL and mostly does voice work now. I can’t imagine him moving the needle at all so the hyping of the announcement is certainly strange. But everything about this revival, including it’s existence, is odd to me.

Between feeding the Brightman and McFarlane rumors, this leak, and hyping up Lancelot for weeks just for Killam... that was DUMB IMO.
not only does it not move the needle on sales, but leaves many disappointed.
My dad was considering a trip from the midwest for this show. At this point, he probably won't come up, because not much is different from the original production. Why would he spend all the money? No one besides Monty Python namesake is drawing him in (as an example)
